anyone remember this?
![]() ![]() it had this: ![]() and this: and: http://autozine.kyul.net/strange_car/strange_10.htm Based on the S2 Avant, Porsche installed a bigger KKK turbocharger to the 2.2-litre 20 valves straight 5-cylinder engine. Boost pressure raised from 1.1 bar to 1.4 bar, together with revised engine management programme (of course) and modified exhaust, the power output jumped to 315 hp and 302 lbft. Porsche also fitted 911's massive brakes to all four wheels, ensured terrific stopping power. As a result, RS2 was not only the fastest Audi, but the fastest estate in the world. Acceleration was astonished - 0-60 mph took just 4.8 sec !! http://www.supercars.net/garages/PeP/19v2.html The wheels are what Porsche calls Carrera Cup, a style used on recent 911s. Made in Italy, these attractive alloys have one drawback: the centre bulges out-wards and is vulnerable to high kerbs. Diameter is l7in, necessary in order to clear the brake calipers, which are labelled Porsche and made by Brembo in Italy. They are a great improvement over those on the S2, but mean that the wheels and hubs are not compatible with other Audis. Front and rear discs are ventilated with diameters of 304 and 299mm respectively. This compares with the 276mm ventilated front and 245mm solid rears of the S2. Just as important as size is the use of four-piston calipers, each disc being by two pistons on each side rather than the single-sided arrangement on the S2. from what i understand, people have been able to get 500-600hp out of them! would you buy it instead of a Cayenne? apparently all the Porsche station wagon/shooting brake/estate projects have been pretty awesome so far. i bet they used this experience in the Cayenne. obin
