Trailers

Some of you must be pulling a trailer with your Cayenne. Can anyone recommend one brand over the other. Please show pictures if you have them. Thanks.

What do you want to pull with the trailer ? Car, boat, etc. ?

Nothing that large. Mainly overflow luggage, coolers, yard chairs. Stuff that does not fit in the car when you have 4 people and their luggage in there.

Harbor Freight also sells a cargo rack that fits in the hitch receiver. You can get it for less than 75 bucks, item #92655 is one example. Should hold the type of load you're talking about.

I have one and it carried 4 Cayenne wheels/tires without any problem. Says it's rated to 500 lbs.

Is anyone here towing towards the maximum?

I've only had my CS 2 months, but the one time I pulled my boat with it (6000lbs) it had no problem with it whatsoever. Pulled like it wasn't even back there.

I towed a generator for a music festival. 7300lbs. Pulled like a champ and had no issues accelerating at highway speeds up mountain hills. Oh yea, 05 turbo

We did multiple trips in our '05 turbo from CA to NM towing our race trailer with cars & furniture, 6000 lbs. with no issues other than lousy gas mileage. I typically cruised at 70-75 mph. Towed great even in 40 mph crosswinds.

Towed 1/2 a cord of not so seasoned wood and my '63 bug that was just imported from Sweden. Towed great with no problems.

With my 2004 Cayenne Turbo, I pulled my 1990 Carrera 4 (3200 lbs give or take) about 800 miles on an Aluma 8220 tilt trailer (1500 lbs) plus the rear of the car loaded up with tools, spare wheels and tires, and so on. I agree with the comment: No issues other than lousy mileage. I think I got 8-10mpg at 75-80mph.

Pulled this Trailex coast to coast a couple of times...and hundreds of short trips.

Pulled the Haul-rite 5'-8" in this picture coast to coast several times as well...and a million shorter trips in between...with the same 2004 Turbo.

My TT hauls this without any problems.

This is just a "6" but it does OK with the Featherlite, for my Wells Cargo enclosed or anything bigger, my 2500 Suburban does the job with no problem :D
