Pelican Parts Forums - Starting problem Cayenne S 4.8 2007

Hey guys,

Just stumbled across this forum, the way the information is layed out seems great. I skimmed through the manuals and could not find a solution to my problem, which as it seems is pretty common with Cayenne S 4.8 V8 (mine is 2007).

The problem is with starting the car:
When the car is cold or hash't been used for some time, it starts straight away, however after it warms up and I drive some, for example 30min in city traffic, it will have huge problems starting. Sometimes it might start with the 4th-5th crank, sometimes I have to let it cool off for 30-40min. It seems that power from the battery doesn't go to the starter, it somehow gets killed.

- I've fixed the starter 3 times already (as the mechanic told me now, there is no way it can not start this time)
- Installed a brand new Bosch battery
- The cooling system pipes have been changed to aluminium already
- It is not connected with the wheel and turning mechanism, that works fine

What Ive read in other places, is that the starter has to be ordered brand new.
