Cayenne heater switch
The temperature switch on the central control panel on my 2012 Cayenne has broken. The small centre chrome plastic piece is detached from the switch body that moves forward and back to select the required temperature. My Porsche centre advise that the whole central panel has to be replaced and the cost will be around $1000. I realise these are not the cheapest vehicles on the road to maintain but I did hesitate over paying out one large just for a small plastic switch.
I'd be pleased to hear if anyone has had a similar problem and also pleased to hear if they have found a fix for it. |

It looks like the part has been "superceeded" at least one time, and typically that means they have revised the design of the part, or switched manufacturers. Chances are that the new $1000 part will be better than the last...
If I had one here, I would at the very least, try to take it apart. What have we got to lose?? That being said I wonder if there is some chance Porsche would cover it under warranty?? |
