2013 Diesel oil change at 40,000 miles

Well... it did not go that smoothly. 1. I used a new sump plug and copper ? crush washer from the kit and was not able to get a complete seal ... even after tightening again and switching to the original crush washer . There is maybe one drip per 15 minutes or so. Went to 22 ft-lb I also noticed that the oil was coming out just when I started to unscrew the original sump plug meaning it was not a close fit on the threads . If the dealer uses the extraction method, this sump plug may be original from factory. 2. I could not get the top off the filter element cannister ... I as going to purchase a 32 mm socket as the wrench is only in 2 sides .. the spec says 26 ft-lb. 3. There seems to be a bracket missing connecting the filter cannister to the block .. see image . I think I saw it missing on an online video also. Do I ask the dealer if it is a spec. change ? Added 7.5 liters of 5w-30 Mobil 1 ESP and checked with my dipstick and it looked good and the instrument cluster oil level registers full ... but takes some time to calibrate ? Normal ? So I need to fix the small leak at the sump and get the new filer element in ... any ideas on this . Thanks, Bob | ||
