Now Audi has a Cayenne too?
I've been avoiding the whole Cayenne discussion because the whole thing just doesn't make sense to me...but this is another bad sign:
Just saw a picture in C&D of Audi's Cayenne-based SUV. This should worry Porsche, because (IMO) Audi's reputation for quality is right up there with Porsche's ever since "the change" (water cooling and mass production techniques). I would think that Audi's variant will compete directly in the same marketspace as the Cayenne, and the only feature it will clearly lose on is power. The badges have roughly the same prestige value (again IMO) even though Audi is owned by VW. Any thoughts? |
does it matter a vw with different badges is still a vw ,your insecure-texas bmw driver,bimmen325

You mean insecure-texas-grammarclueless bmw driver. S'ok, we understand.

I believe I read in Autoweek that at some point Lamborghini would be getting an SUV based on the Pepperwagon chassis. Lamborghini is part of the VWAG group. That could muddle things nicely.
|
Lambo has had an suv out for years we used to call it the lambo Rambo, even b4 the Hummer. they were first made for the Saudi army and were money was no object then Lambo used the Countach chassis and engine v12 this made the cost at over 150k in the 80's the Saudis didint buy them all and a few made to the open market. They're kinda cool due to the machine gun touret option available, and the built proof under belly (land mines) and doors stock. I've seen a few here in L.A. They kind of look like Hummers.
|
I belive that was the LM400 or something along those lines. The new one (if they follow through) will be based on the Cayenne / Tourag chassis.

I am new to this forum, but there seem like alot of damn child play fighting going on between 325 & old skul. Why? Well anyways. If you look at alot of the parts on the cayenne there are vw audi parts all over it. The cayenne is still superior to all suv's. I honestly think that audi will not compete against Porsche. Look at the Audi R8 Porsche had ALOT to do with that. Porsche might be the one of the last independent car manufactors out there but they work with Audi alot. RS2 for instances
