Factory Porsche dealer illuminated crest

This is a factory dealer supplied large Porsche crest. It was supplied with a white case that held the icodecent tube lights and lite from behind. This is just the sign it self. I had LED strip lighting on the edge when I had it displayed. It is made of 3/4” plexi glass with the logo printed onto it. It is in excellent shape and ready for a new home. The size is a little over 4’ high and over 3’ wide. It weights about 30-35 lbs. In the video “Porsche white collection” at 4:41 into the video you see the person plug in the same sign just with the white bezel I don’t have with it. I have attached the video link below.

I am asking 850.00 for it and will listen to reasonable offers. This is an iconic piece of Porsche history and this is the second one I have seen outside form the video, the other sold in the same state in Germany two years ago. I will except cash or PayPal for payment. I am willing to ship the item for an additional cost to the buyer.

Im not so sure about this one.
This is the sign from the video referenced. It clearly is not the same sign.



The lettering on the sign in the video is clear/white allowing illumination through. This one has dark lettering. I messaged with the seller and he indicated light shines through it. However he does not have any pictures of it lit up. I made note that the picture with it sitting in front of the glass door none of that light appears to be shining through at all and requested a pic with a light shining on it from the back. Communication stopped at that point.
This sign looks very similar to the reproduction I found on line for $65. Buyer might want to make sure they know what they are getting on this one.

^ I think the seller merely meant that the crest he is selling would have been in a similar white mounting. Clearly the crest is not the same - one is from the ‘70s (in the video) and the one in question is a modern Porsche crest.

Lastly, the one in your screenshot is far smaller (24” high vs. 48” high) and is a thin piece of plexi.

I have no affiliation with the seller, but have spent a great deal of time looking for these types of signs.

The type of sign offered for sale here was NEVER mounted in the style of frame in the video and post #5
The later sign that the OP is selling was mounted in a silver box
there are (at least) 2 types:
-Plastic "decal" glued/mounted on a service box
-Embossed decal inset into service box (I owned the later, see photo)

Clearly it is not the same. Im not saying it is not a nice sign, priced incorrectly or the seller is trying to scam anyone. I was just pointing out it did not add up for my comfort level of purchasing the sign sight unseen with the inconsistencies and the stop in communication when I asked for further clarification.
My aim was not to slam the seller just to point some inconsistencies out for other potential purchasers so they could be satisfied with what they were getting.

It is a slam from my point the seller. I emailed you back at answered your questions. The unit you show for 65 dollars is a printed sign if you read into the article. Also if you convert 64cm x 38cm as stated in your repose photo, that would make it 24” x 18 “, a bit smaller than I stated in my add. The unit is as stated clear plexi printed on the back side as a mirror image. I had this in my garage as a display, becasue I didn’t have a photo of it illuminated for you , it is fake. This is why I dislike selling things of this nature on forums, if it is not for you move on!

I never said it was fake. I asked you to simply shine a light through it from the back and you stopped responding to our text chain not email. Your actions and story were questionable in my mind and I was not prepared to spend $850 on it. I felt the possibility existed it was not legit so felt it reasonable to share my experience so other potential buyers could make sure they were satisfied.

My suggestion if you want to sell it would be to follow through with communications and represent it correctly.

I'll give you a hundred bucks for it. Any more than that and I can have one made at a sign shop. 48" plexi is cheap. And what's an icodecent light?
