A picture MIGHT help!

911parts 01-13-2023 07:45 AM

Try Google if you want to see the poster. Given the number of scammers on this site, posting detailed pics just forwards them opportunity. If your serious about buying, PM a phone # and I'll send pics.

acoupe 01-13-2023 09:09 AM

whatever

I fail to understand how posting a pic could be harmful. Is there something I don't know, "911 parts" ?

I think he is referring to "Picture Poachers", who grab pictures and create fake ads around them. I have had it done to me before, not a big deal because when it comes right down to it, pictures sell, and IMHO, having a picture connected to you makes it easier for others to spot the scams, we have seen it on this site, I have seen it on the BMX forums, Facebook, ect. I have had people PM me and tell me that something, they know that I would never part with is listed XYZ for sale. Yes, scammers are a huge problem, a lot of people water mark their pictures. But, when it comes down to selling, making it easier on possible buys, I. E., keep it simple, post pictures of what you want to sell, instead of making a potential buyer jump through hoops. Kinda like the people who cut & paste a link to another forum or page, if they can C&P the link, why not do the entire ad.
I too would like to see what the seller is offering,
Sorry for the rant, consider it a bump.

Timmay! 01-15-2023 08:22 AM

Not a rant, Byron! :) I've heard of pic poaching, but buyers just need to be careful about who they deal with. Check when the seller joined the group, check his number of postings, etc. Check seller's reputation. We all need to help each other by being watchdogs. Cheers!

NEW RULE "THOUGH MUST POST A PICTURE" or grumpy old men will leave comments wrecking your thread. This site is getting worse because of them.

Timmay! 01-15-2023 11:52 AM

Naw, not getting worse. Just be careful who you deal with and NEVER pay thru a method that has no recourse.

911parts 01-15-2023 02:54 PM

Well "grumpy old men" is a judgement call but certainly this thread is wrecked.

Thanks Pelican

Picture showing the condition might help ... as it is a well-known poster, the condition is what counts ... and for that, a picture would help ...

911parts 08-19-2025 11:17 AM

I'll post this again

Try Google if you want to see the poster. Given the number of scammers on this site, posting detailed pics just forwards them opportunity. If your serious about buying, PM a phone # and I'll send pics.

Timmay! 08-19-2025 01:15 PM

Stephen's point was that he wants to see the CONDITION of your individual poster that you have for sale. Peace.

stephenacworth 08-22-2025 05:23 AM

This just doesn't make sense ... and since I posted my point above, two scammers have reached out to me with generic photos that don't show condition ... so you're achieving exactly the opposite of what you claim to be trying to avoid ... how ridiculous ...

911parts 08-24-2025 07:05 AM

What doesn't make any sense is all these comments yet no one has sent phone number or email by PM to request pictures. That means the above commenters are not interested in buying the poster but they keep chiming in, speaks volumes.

stephenacworth 08-24-2025 05:15 PM

You could always PM the people who have commented ... the more this thread drags on the less inclined I am to be interested in purchasing ... 0h well.

BenMS3 09-06-2025 05:50 PM

$1,500 is a crack price anyhow.
