Feedback on stuff...
On a whim, I bought a few things that I ran across. I have no idea of their real value, so in the spirit of Antiques Roadshow here I am:
Books: "Tribute to the Turbo Carrera." Label on the inside from cover says it's # 722 of a limited edition of 1,000. In a silver slipcase. I looked it up on the Internet and see that it's still available for around $20, but I don't know if the "Limited Edition" status is a) true b) adds value. "100 Jahre PORSCHE Im Spiegel der Zeitgeschichte" (100 Years of Porsche Mirrored in Contemporary History." This one inscribed and autographed by "M. Dantke" (spelling) whom the seller told me was the marketing director at Porsche at the time--1976. It was inscribed to the seller and his wife. This too seems to be available readily for around $50.00, but not signed. Stuff: A red "Swiss Army Knife," with "PORSCHE" inlaid in the plastic. Looks just like a real Swiss Army Knife except for the logo. Some kind of weird locking device with two keys. Label attached says "DOM" and one side says, "Main Key," the other "Auxiliary Key" (in 3 languages). Label also says don't lose the label as the number is needed to make new keys. Handwritten "914 511 90700." Seller said it's "new old stock," and a "hood key." I've never seen anything like it and have no real idea how it would be used. I could take a picture of it if anyone is interested in figuring it out. Models: A boatload of models...I won't go into them here. Some are just Hotwheels, but some of them are pretty nice and limited editions...all P-cars. When I get space I want to make a display rack for these. Any books or resources for beginning hobbyist/collectors??? TIA for any info. |
