Factory Porsche posters
I have over 200 to trade/sell. These are really cool pieces of racing history as well as art and they're appreciating well. None are framed. These are not the small reprints, but full-sized factory produced 30 x 40 inch posters.
How's this: July 1982 Factory Rothman's 956 cutaway, WWM 312 710, shows cutaway plus 3 profile views of 956, new condition. Trade for 82 Le Mans posters that I still need?

Have you a list of posters you'd be willing to sell? Would you mind shipping to the UK.
I'm mainly on the hunt for 70's; 80's and 90's. Cheers, |

Hey, 15's a great start! I bought my first poster, 74 Le Mans, in 1992. The collection grows and shrinks sometimes, but it's always cool to go thru them with Porsche buddies.
I'll dig to see if I have extras of the ones you want. ![]() I have the Paris-Dakar 959.

Oldest right now is 73 Sudwest pokal. Needs repair.
I have no 77 Hockenheim right now. I have singles of 1977: Nurburgring Le Mans Daytona Trans-Am Watkins Glen Whoops, I lied. I have a 1965 2 new world records, von Hanstein, and a 1969 24 hours of francorchamps (Spa). Both need repair. But are still cool as hell! ![]()

I'd be interested in the Watkins Glen and Nurburgring.
Have a think about prices (by the way I'm in the UK) PM me if you prefer... Cheers, PS a couple of questions if you don't mind..... Out of interest what are you storing yours in, mine are in tubes I don't feel this is the best place for them, I will be framing and mounting some for the garage, but not sure what to do with the others. I'm looking to collect lastest issues ones, my main dealer and porsche uk weren't too helpful, any idea where I can get them from? |

FTL= Factory Turbo-Look aka the fairly rare M491 option. This German site is the closest thing to the authority on these cars. Turbolook-Register - Startseite

Ah, yes. Haven't heard them referred to that way before. I believe there's one in the shop right now. If I can remember, I'll check on it.

Toddy,
Yep, the best way to acquire the posters for collectability is to get them new in perfect condition, then put them away! Takes alot of patience. The dealerships are supposed to use them for promotions. Sometimes we get them free, otherwise, you never know where you'll come across them. Swap meets, garage sales, race shops closing down. I conducted a Porsche Club tech session on the factory racing posters here in San Diego some 15 years ago. A guy calls me a couple months ago saying he still had my number from that evening and was ready to pass his posters on to the next guy. All we really are is temporary custodians of these pieces of Porsche history, right? I just try to make sure that I share them with other Porsche fans. As far as storing the posters, I keep them (I think) in what's called a "British Quad" plastic bag. I think I sourced them from a comic book company? Right about 30.5 inches wide by 42 inches tall, which is perfect for most posters at 30 x 40 inches. I insert a 30 x 40 piece of cardboard in the bag and then have 1 poster on each side of it. 2 posters per, and they stand up nicely. I had the cardboard "pads" cut for me at a packaging store. Some people worry about using acid free cardboard, but it doesn't seem to have hurt the colors or paper strength? Many posters which are pre-1970 are 33 x 46.5 inches! Huge! I use a bigger bag and bigger piece of cardboard.

Here's what I'm talking about.
![]() I hope you can see the top of the bag. Here's an "early format" larger poster in a larger bag. ![]() Here's a shot of part of the collection. With this system, I've found that I can store the posters relatively safely. I can go thru them quickly, move them "pretty" safely, etc. ![]()

Wow, what a collection, thanks for sharing! Great idea for storing safely whilst being able to view them.
Which posters are you able to pass onto the next custodian (me)?? Just picked up a '67 Racing Season poster - which is massive! |
