Porsche 911 Powered by EVO 8
Finally my 1987 Porsche 911 99.5% finished just needs headliner..... I had it on the dyno today but they will finish tuning it on Monday. We are at 455hp at the wheels and 393lbs of torque. it is powered by a Mitsubishi Evo 8 motor (4 cyl turbo) It should end up close to 500 hp. It's definitely a 10 sec 1/4 car. Here is a dyno video..

Wonderful!
What is the engine rpm at 60 mile/hr? Do you see any need to modify the transmission? |
that's a really cool build, great and affordable engine for the dollar vs hp.
what transmission are you using? how does it feel vs a 911 engine? how long did it take you to build this? |
I was at 120mph at 6800. in 4th gear..... my redline is 7900.... I still had 5th gear... I picked a great combo...... I was cruising at 65 at like 3200 in 5th gear

it took 2 years to build it as a conv. I was not happy then sent it to my buddies body shop again to put the coupe roof on and turbo metal flares, then repainted again. that took a year. After I got it from the body shop I drove it 100 miles then my wrist pin walked out..... motor shot....now a year and a half later changed several things and had a 2.3 stroker motor built... Now I just have to get the headline and A/C done... |
Hory Shet!!!! Very cool. And nice work on the de-cabifying! Looks sweet.
