Jason - are you able to provide any details? If this is a current forum member that is 'scamming' people, please send me a PM and we'll look into it further.

Normally in these situations there is no car. The quicker you work off of that fact the better chance you have of recovering your money.

Providing more details might help, someone might know the guy.

a quick google search of that vin shows an old eBay auction with an expired link meaning it sold a long time ago and the auction has been deleted. looks like you got scammed with some old pictures from that auction.

I think this was a classified ad on ebay from a few weeks ago, and was removed by ebay. But the "seller" has probably already collected lots of contact info from potential buyers and then starting taking money. That's normally how these work.

The ad is no longer in my watched items, meaning ebay removed it.

If this is the car you paid for, try and get law enforcement involved, because there is no car, just a guy with some pictures.

That is a bit suspicious, especially because they have been moot since posting this thread. I’d bet we won’t hear from them again...

Way back when, must have been early mid 90's, a well known owner of a parts place was putting a sunroof on a slick top 356. He wouldn't have been the one ghosting the one post buyer though. I never did understand his rationale though.
