What’s the market like for 996TTs?

Mines just sitting there since I bought the A8 back in January. I was using it more as a GT and there’s too much overlap. Plus since one is an appliance I don’t care where I park it.

I’m sort of thinking perhaps I should go for something older and rawer for what it would fetch, so was curious as to where the market was. It would be a nice change to not take a bath on a car.

Of course then I’d have to decide what I wanted to swap it for, which would be a whole saga in of itself. Unless someone has a nice 76 3.0 in green and has no idea of the value of it of course.

Miles, color, condition and options?

996tt prices have definitely been trending up.

*They usually fetch a little more on BAT but there are more than enough comps for you.

Every time I consider something a bit newer and less raw, it’s the 996TT I consider. And then I just end up getting another 930 again after contemplating it. It’s a terrible affliction I can’t seem to shake, I added another one just last week. I think it’s called CIS, carbureted injection syndrome. Is there a pill for this or something?

^^ Good thing you didn’t post Constant Injection Syndrome. That would have brought Rawknee into this thread faster than you can say Beetlejuce, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.

If you can get a dollar more than you paid sell it, they made 19,000 of those things they'll be worthless soon.

Market is very hot for low-mid mileage (say, 60k and below) stock-ish manual coupes. High mileage ones are all over the place, as are tippies. Cabs typically trade at a bit of a discount to coupes, as do most other 911s.

04 coupe. Stick. 45k miles.
Unicorn color - forest green and a natural leather interior - so it probably won’t be difficult to sell is what I’m hearing. I color coded the center console and stuck a new GT2 clutch setup in it when the old one gave way right after I put a UMW tune on it. It also has a set of 997TT wheels in addition to the stock ones.
Guess I need to decide one way or another if an older one will scratch the itch for a while.

Natural leather which color? Brown? Even in black that's a huge plus. Color coded console, I don't know. Do you have pictures?
UMW tune and GT2 clutch are good mods which won't hurt. Also the tune makes the DME read moot so cuts off that part of the debate.

997tt wheels, you're much better off selling separately. Many people, myself included, really hate 19s on a 996tt. If this were a tacky gemballa-type car, the kind of person who likes that kind of car would love 19s. The top dollar buyers of a rare color creampuff, not so much.

Assuming no stories (spoiler rams, etc.), I think you could get high 50s on BaT on a bad day, well into the 60s if the right people are in the room.

Brown leather. Pictures don’t do the color justice.
And color coded console - I mean painted to match body color.
It’s a lot nicer than the stock plastic was.

The 19s came with it. I couldn’t get them off fast enough and go back to the set of stock ones I bought and had refinished.

Taken before the console was painted. I’ll look for a pic of that when I get out of the tunnel.

Green and brown is a killer combo. I think I remember you mentioning the car on Rennlist, too, a couple of weeks ago.

My price guess would be low to mid sixties.

I haven’t been on rennlist in months. Been too busy. Struggling to get this last photo up too - AT&T bandwidth on metro north sucks.
You may remember it from a couple of years back when I bought it. It took me a long time to find as I really wanted that color.

Ah! No, there was actually another Green / Brown 996tt being floated on Rennlist a couple of weeks back.

You made me go look. That’s rainforest rather than forest. It’s a lighter color green.
My C4S was that color - back before I swapped it for a wife and a mortgage. I miss that car...

On the other hand, a lowered car with springs and nosebleed seats and a scrotch harness and a cage and RWD conversion which has been beaten to an inch of its life and had its fair share of excursions away from the black part of the track, that's gonna have a very small buyers pool and if you want to move it quickly you'll likely have to reach down in price.

And now I’m back on WiFi this - albeit poor quality - picture shows what I meant about the console.
