Great color combo
That should sell fast, the color combo is fantastic.
The one owner status/originality makes it hard to resist and worthy of a proper restoration. |

C'mon yes i like it to but please be real, and sorry as i don't want to sound to negative.
When you'r done you spend probably $ 50 k fixing-up doing most yourself, and not even close to a restored or a show car, the car is than worth what? Now if you spend $ 50k you can buy something very, very nice and enjoy/drive it instantly from day one. Cheers. Last edited by pingpong; 07-30-2018 at 04:37 AM.. Reason: if |

We would discount the cost of fixing the seats and a myriad of other issues from the price and suggest offering just over $20,000 and defiantly not over $25,000. Same car just how it is presented ![]() |

Not everybody wants to restore a car. Some just want to get into a Porsche. With not a a lot of money somebody can be driving a "beater". Nothing wrong with that.

This car needs a “driver” quality restoration with an owner who does most of the work over time. Rebuild the calipers and get the engine running and drive it while you fix various bits. I think I could spend 1/3 of that and have a good driver. The mag engine case is a wild card of sorts, that could suck up some coin. Inserts could repair the head stud pull issue, but if the case is porous? I picked up an ‘82 SC about eight years ago and I have keep it going by sourcing new or used parts while I drove and enjoyed it. I have rebuilt 2 calipers, replaced the steering column bushing and starter, repaired the air box (and a few other easy things), while I save for the inevitable engine rebuild. I have spent less than $1,000 to keep it running (did my own valve adjustments and engine oil/transaxle changes etc.), not including the price of performance parts like SSIs /M&K and a custom short geared 915. If you can’t wrench, don’t buy it - you will wait a very long time to break even on your expenditure. A ‘77 911S is not a highly sought after model (even in Irish green and cork) and not worth (unless you value the experience) an expensive shop restoration. |

The only guy who is going to checkbook restore a car like this is someone into preservation class concours stuff. And this car isn't nice enough going in to pretend it's all original once your guy goes through it to like new condition. It needs too much.

for $30k you can buy a sorted running driving car so the price is nuts but then so is the market :

I need to look at the for sale section more often I guess. I didn’t realize sorted mid 70’s cars are a dime a dozen.

if not rusty that car has a ton of potential if you were to put a 3.o or 3.2 in it for the narrow body & slick lid hotrod thing. I still wish my 75 had no SC flares...

If I had found my car without I would have left it. Buy mine was 935 so going back to Carrera flares just made sense.

Ditto.
SC flares are there and it’s not worth the extra work to undo it on a non matching car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I just wasn't willing to pay the difference. Body guy had a set of Carrera flares sitting there in his shop and he wanted the 935 ones. He would have had to go out looking for and buy a set of narrow ones for me.

Guy put RS flares on my '75 back in the 1990s. Remarkably I found a pair of rear Targa flares from a '74 that was built three months before mine - for $130 on here. I am debating if I should bring it back. I may or may not depending on what kind of mood I'm in, but I have the option of putting better tires on it being wider.
