First there needs to be schools and hospitals - that are seriously lacking over there. And he could have sold them and built several schools. But no. He doesn't want to educate his own people because they would turn on him. What a douche.

That would require common sense, something of which is in very limited supply in this regime. This was an act about showing how much power you can wield, as opposed to using that power to do good for your country.

He is simply sending message to the illegal importation or smuggled goods that this is what is going to happen to it if they do not go thru the proper channels of paying import taxes. He is a Douce in many ways but he wants to change corruption in the Philippines especially among government officials.
