PPI shop in Houston, TX?

Hi guys,

Can anyone recommend a good shop or indy mechanic for a PPI in the Houston area?

Thanks!

Nothing I'd recommend in Houston proper. Try Warren at Callas Rennsport in Sealy, TX.

Thanks! The car was built in that shop so I'd like to go to a third party for the PPI. Can you suggest a different shop?

If Mike and Warren built and tended the car I personally wouldn't even ppi it. I'd fly in and verify overall condition and buy it. Or have Warren look it over.

This internet myth that you can't trust the shop who built the car is rubbish. You can't trust crooks. Mike was a man of honor, and now that he's passed and Warren runs the place he runs it the same way.

Thanks Matt, that's good to hear. After spending some time on the phone with Mike's widow, MC, and Warren, I was reassured. I did, however, decide to go ahead with the PPI because the seller has had it for about five years now. Warren promised he'd do an unbiased PPI.

I may be crazy, but I'm planning to buy it sight unseen. I'm going overseas for two weeks in a couple days and just don't have the time.

I have to say, the way MC talks about her memories of Mike with such love in her voice is extremely moving. He briefly owned this car and it was bringing back memories for her. She clearly adored him. I didn't expect that moment of humanity when calling a mechanic shop, but the Porsche world continues to surprise me.

Mike was one of the good ones. I knew him and did business with him for many years.

If Warren signs off on the car rest easy.

Tom here from Houston.
I have used Eurocar-Werk for over
20 years. From a 73 Carrera RS to a
92 Carrera RS. They are the best
“Air-cooled” guys around.
Call and ask for Eric, the owner.
