Value of factory RS 964 Aluminum bonnet (hood)
The answer I got here several years ago was 3k. Has that changed? I am seriously considering parting out my project of 20 years. This one is immaculate.
Thank you for any reliable expertise, bernard

You can buy a new one for $2500 so prolly 3k for genuine Factory part with stamps.
It's the sort of thing that if you can photograph it well, BAT would prolly get you 10-20% more for it.

The correct AL 964 RS hood was worth $5-6k 10 years ago. The 993 versions are cheaper and still available new - or at least they used to be.

Bernard - remember, always start high - you can always come down. It's not like they are growing on trees.

964 hood probably worth more since it’ll fit cars from 74 to 89. 993 hood only fits 993. Someone correct me if wrong but I believe that’s right.

I've had an alu factory longhood for sale for a long time at $6600, with no takers or offers, so theoretical value vs market value is the real question, IMO.

So many great opinions across the sphere. Makes it really. difficult to decipher. I thank you all, hope to reply to all in one shot if its OK.
First to Techweenie, I'm jealous of your nearly 20000 posts! I have now 200, so 1% of yours and you only preceded me by 7 years. To Sal Paradise, great advice, and thanks, I won't forget it. To Phil @ PU 911, yeah! They don't make em anymore. Your right and most honest. To Jeff @ Man bridge 74, yes, it fits my 89 perfectly! 74-89, must be a market there for guys who want to lift a few pounds off the weight of their car. Who knows if the aftermarket 2500 dollar jobs fit well? I have 3 factory ALU early S lids. All I ever heard was that these fit better than aftermarket stuff. Thanks again everyone for the excellent advice/opinions. You are all great! bernard
