Don't worry Matt, I won't tell it again. However, that wasn't an incest story although true. Danny and Mike weren't siblings. At best they were brothers in Christ, but I wouldn't know if either had actually received the gift Jesus gave when he was murdered unintentionally. Actually he wasn't willing, yet he was since he submitted to the plan. He said -- if there's any way, take this cup away (father), I don't want it, but not my will or way. Let your will be done. Anyway, the way times have changed since that Real McCoy event is mind boggling. I hope it's not seared into your minds! Good that no one can even remember where it was written. Also, just remember I got beat up for telling it the first time. If you ever drive through Yerington enroute to CA and stop at Casino West at the bar for a drink, ask someone in their mid 50's if they've ever heard of the real McCoy. You just might be able to hear it again, not tat you would want to, but the Rawman might!?!? bernie |

Nor will your presence be diminished whatsoever. We will miss you, yet we don't want you to over work your body or mind if you need some honest rest, if nothing but to clear your mind, get exercise and just REST up a bit. Listen to the Eagles! i.e. Take it Easy! bernie |

Bernie, While I appreciate your thoughts, you won't be getting rid of me quite that easily. For starters, this is what I have: https://www.stopsarcoidosis.org/what-is-sarcoidosis/ My comments yesterday were largely in the past tense. Getting a diagnosis, which I have now had since March, was a 2 year process. Because of my history of TBI and spinal damage we began by looking at things neurologically. When that didn't pan out, I moved on to a neurosurgeon. It was only following a surgical procedure that they conducted, injecting my spinal cord with a radioactive isotope for imaging, that they first noticed the masses. 14 bioosies followed. I have confirmed masses in my left lung, the 4 major lymph nodes between the lungs, and on my thyroid. Based on MRI results and symptoms, they believe that I also have them in the mastoid and occipital lymph nodes in my skull. That's the source of the neurological and other brain symptoms. Since my diagnosis, my symptoms have gotten less pronounced. At one point I went 3 months without a major migraine attack with temporary blindness. Now, instead of 3-4 day attacks, they come and go pretty quickly. I had one yesterday where the halo started while I was at lunch. Fearing blindness, I rushed home. By the time I got home the halo had cleared and the migraine was on. On the scale I would give it a 3. It's still there this morning but is down to a 1. And the usual swelling behind my right ear of the lymph node that I can feel with my hand, is gone already. I can only attribute this to two things: 1. Stress. I lived for the better part of two years thinking I had CTE, a brain tumor, or something like lymphoma. It has been a great relief to be diagnosed with what I have affectionately taken to calling lymphoma light. There is still an outside chance this thing might kill me some day. However the odds of that are really low and 90% of sufferers recover almost completely as mysteriously as they got sick. 2. Rest and activity. Previously I was playing through the pain. I am a distance trail runner. I had been running 35-40 mi a week in training. I ran with migraines. I once went blind at 11,000' and had to sit there for more than a hour until I could see again. I thought I had HACE! I've entered no races since last Dec. I run less than 20 mi a week and I take it easy when I go out. I sleep 8-9 hours a night. I take a nap every day. I lay down often if I feel fatigue or symptoms coming on. A mega-dose of NSAIDS can help knock back an attack, and direct application of CBD ointment appears to reduce swelling of the lymph nodes. For most of the last 2 years I was working 4-5 hours a day, and often taking 2-3 days in bed at a time. It was during those times I was talking about yesterday. If I was posting a ton during the day it's because I was in bed, not at my desk. I've been working more of late, but still just watch my condition. Working from home, I can back off any time and have it be invisible to my clients because voicemail or my wife gets the phone and I just make sure they get a call back in an hour or two. Until I put in on my corporate FB, most people had no idea I was even sick. I'm catching a flight to Vegas in a couple of hours. This is only the second business trip in 3 years. The last one was at Rennsport a year ago. I was really sick for that one. I had a migraine the whole event. Today I feel good. The Cayman sequential is done. I am taking it to the World Challenge race tomorrow and Saturday. Assuming no mishaps over the weekend, Sunday I will drive it home. In line with my habit of being musical, I will leave you with a Throwback Thursday favorite of mine. I've always loved the opening line of this one. It's how I feel today... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vimZj8HW0Kg |

Matt, I read it all, listened to what you sent, and I can see that we ain't gonna git rid of you very soon. That is good news for me and I'm sure a host of others. You have strength and endurance like a survivor, like a Navy Seal. Something I live by, perhaps I can pass along -- when I have a bad day I try to be thankful for everything I have or have been given (maybe by God?). I have food, a job, I got a family, friends, even a roof over my head. When you think about that, and the millions or billions of people on the planet who don't even have that, you can realize how it's not a bad day! Actually, it's a good day! Day by day it's a joy if you consider this. I gotta go! Wife is *****in that it's 12 thirty and I have to work tomorrow. I know that, but I thought this was valuable info! bernie |

Say Toby, I hope U are all well. Stay clear of those fires if they come to your vicinity! I'm feeling for you bro if you don't have denki (electricity) at the moment. Also, joking aside, one day I may pop though on the way to LA.
Stay cool and safe while the Santa Ana winds blow dangerously close. Never meant any harm or insult, just a bit of joking for sure! Just Toby busting I was. bernie |

ah, ya,,,, we will not be doubling up on the quad.... upon arrival home with it the rifle storage unit came off. I will be putting that up for sale in the politic/religion OT section here on pelican where all the "spoon" guys hang out... the grizzly quad did need some attention and im underway with a bunch of maintenance stuff that I think was very much due. the carb, which while researching the model was quite prevalent apparently and leaking gas out the overflow. seems the needle valve seats on them do not hold up well so I got a rebuild kit for around $20, and then found a whole new, complete mukuni knock off carb on amazon for $50!! I was skeptical to say the least but read a number of the 300+ reviews for the thing and they were glowing so I pulled the trigger. pulled the original one off, slapped the new one on and as suggested a few twists of the AF screw and I was shattin in high cotton. I will still rebuild the original mikuni so if the knock peters out at some point ill reinstall the OE unit. good thing im a carb man and this puppy,,, irrrr grizz did not come with CIS or I might be in trouble as you know sean and ol miagi ain't helping me out one bit...SmileWavy oil, filter, diff fluids, greasing suspension points, cleaned the stoopid K&N filter it came with and a few other things the Clymer manual suggests. can't wait to put it to work after I find a small trailer for it for property clean up and possibly a blade if the winter snow seems to require it. the snow removal option is why I went with the 660, and it's got the torque for the task I reckon in the short amount of time I spent on it, AND it came with an extra set of wheels and snow tires in addition to the trail type ones on it now. |
Bernz has his heart set on riding bisch with you on the quad, Tobs - would be cruel to deny him that pleasure, Bro! There might even be a Real McCoy situation in the works!
BTW, if pNutz owned that quad, he would throw the carb in the trash and install a CIS system on that bisch!!! |
