1972 911T Coupe

Looking for opinions on value.

1972 911T. Matching numbers engine and transmission. Non sunroof coupe. Color change from silver to black. Original interior (shown with SC seats, original seats included). Plastic dash pad, aftermarket whale tail, fiberglass bumpers, SC flares (well done). Paint is meh.

No rust, dry floors. Weber carbs need rebuilding. Engine needs a reseal. Runs but isn't registered. 7 and 8 Fuchs.

With a little time and effort the car could be a fun driver. I just don’t have the time nor do I want to put in the effort. Plus, I want to buy a boat…lol.

Car is covered in my heated garage. Low ball PM’s will be deleted and ignored.

Thanks guys

Nick

Wow, heating that garage must get pricey? It looks open air....

Just kidding, good luck with the car.

mid 40's depending how the paint is....could be 50, could be 40

I figure, to make it more valuable you need paint, remove the flag mirrors, you need to put MFI back on the motor....undo all the black trim, and then it's personal preference whether the flares stay or go.

Do you want a quick sale or wait for market?
$50's seems to be the going ask for cars like yours.
IMO $35-40 would sell fairly quick.

Don't do it, but you should be able to place it fairly easily around $40k...

I'd say 40 to 50k depends on the mood of the buyer.

Thank you all for your valuable input. I'm still on the fence about selling, but life is screaming at me to downsize.

Here in Tucson, we have 'air conditioned' garages. Left out side cars are heated and cooked.

Of course, stock cars are the most valuable to some (most?) buyers and pricing is based on cost to convert to stock.
For the other buyers it is a base for a hot rod or just a fun driver as is.
With that in mind I agree, 40K is about what seems to be the market these days for that kind of car.

I agree with this one. This is a value of reason.

So you guys don't think Nick is competent to assess whether or not it is rusty?

I'm bumping this thread. I've never marketed the car or put in on the market in the last 12 months, but the downsizing bug has taken a strong hold. I don't have the patience for BaT and would rather just do a nice, quiet deal with a local or one of you guys. It's a cool, clean car but needs somebody to do what needs to be done. Unfortunately that's not gonna be me.

PM me if you want to talk. I'll most likely put it in some classifieds or 911S if it doesn't sell behind the scenes. Thanks

Nick

Great looking car. # Matching is great. No rust is great.
Great set up for anyone wanting an early hot rod - plenty of grip with 7/8 Fuchs under those nice flares.
Don't sell, you will be sorry later.
I would say no less than you paid, plus 10% so you make money.
Set your price and be patient.
Boats only go in water.

Nick,
You might want to wait a few days, I've got this one on ebay, ending on Wed, kind of a good comp, might help you decide on how to price your car.

NYN, Underside pic's would certainly help give you a higher offer, if the underside is as rust free as you claim...

Unob- nice find. Will be watching.
I think this forum is quite fun to follow. You've got the endless line up of sellers wanting genuine feedback on what their car is worth (valid). Then there's Matt the moderator, who almost always manages to boil a vehicle back down to what gearbox it's running. Or how much it will cost to fix. Adam chucks in a 356 value as the sun goes down. Occasionally a longhood pops up- always overvalued. Chaos if/when newer 964's step up! Cylinder meltdown LOL.

Adam,

What did your 72 coupe go for? Thinking of selling my Targa.
