Yup, get them interested early and they will enjoy it. Max came in 2nd in the pine wood derby, we are shooting for #1 this year!

Show them what a tool is, what they can do with it, kids are kids, fancy electronics doesn't change that. My daughter is the same way with art, it's amazing the stuff she does because we got her into it early. Her work was shown at the State Capitol last year, not bad for a 9 year old.

Crap Adam! My son's Derby car could take down your son's "Sizzler" any day!

That was only because I punched through when I was drilling from the bottom and inserting the tungsten weights. I didn't have time to fix it, we were supposed to work on it Sunday and Monday night but I got a call Sunday about a 911 in DC and I was off, didn't make it back until Tuesday and the car was due Wed, so cosmetics be damned!
We will find out Saturday if all our hard work paid off, either way win or lose, we had a lot of fun making it, watching Youtube video's together, and strategizing about it.

Need I remind you of your TT with a wing example earlier in this thread? We aren't all the same. They aren't all the same. Some of what you describe is absolutely happening, some of it is not. I just chuckle at the broad strokes with which you paint it all and how quickly you grab on to a post that validates some of what you think as if it makes it some universal law of the world.

And sorry, I should have said CW. They changed their name. It's a TV network. No, I don't watch it either. But it's got a lot of millennial marketing to it...

I have to say I am excited that you did turn me onto these networks, because before I had not thought of them. But if in fact I did tune in and turn onto these networks, they may have skewed my view on what a millennial is capable of - and it could have gone either way.

It's possible that magic could be used to restore a car. It's very possible that these three on the series "Charmed" could get it done. Ronnie, please don't get too excited.

I know the Flash could get it done.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1547748823.jpg

Yeah, I think she could get it done to. (Ronnie this was a shameless post on my part just for you).

These are just a few examples were I stand corrected had I actually been influenced by modern pop-culture TV network.

However, Matt, it must be a little unsettling that many millennials are into driving some new-fangled electric cars with transmissions that don't require gears or will never have them.

This wasn't a post saying millennials are not into cars and I never said that. On the contrary, they are, but it is my opinion that the cars are not necessarily the same as the ones we hold dear.

Pinewood pics are sweet though. I am glad the post morphed into what it did after seeing the Pinewood pics. Well played with that one. Pinewood is awesome.

I'm seeing a Torsen-Gleason planetary diff there, full of gears. You saying one couldn't replace that with an LSD in a performance application?

Taken with an iphone ?

By the way, even by the broadest definitions, the youngest millennials are now in their 20s... Lack of actual buying power for something like a luxury hobby car still comes down to a few major contributors. Home ownership (or lack of) and student debt the largest two. It'll probably be another 10 to 15+ years before the millennials can shake those burdens and catch up with previous generations.

Nah. If it were an iphone it would have posted like this:

You realize, of course, that the Millennial population exceeds that of the Baby Boomers, the largest defined demographic ever, right? The difference between those two populations is that while the BB's have all the money today, the Millennials are inheriting it from them all soon.

They are the next to control the wealth in America. Don't knock 'em.

Ha ha - that's great (and symbolic of our current leadership - doesn't know which way is up, or know anything else, for that matter, except how to Twitter-troll and tell tall tales, of course!).
