Phone holder

Anyone found a holder for their phone other than the typical one that sticks on the top of dash (afraid of possible damage to surface)
For a 88 coupe

Rennline has a cool one, for air cooled cars, it’s a ring that fits around the clock or gas gauge and positions a magnetic phone mount accordingly. Nice product.

Nice looking mount! It looks like it might hold a gopro camera, anyone try it?

^^^ I have yet to find a suction cup mount that didn't quit working or break after 6 months, or one hot summer.

Now if there were a Rawknees level of suck that may last forever.

The suction cups will eventually fall and scratch or cut something.

I have the rennline mount, easy to see, its in perfect reach, easy to install, easy to attach and detach the phone, and does not obstruct vision at all.

I've had this one over a year, at speed at Daytona and Roebling, street use in both the 968 and Cheyenne, no failure yet. Course I take it in and out of a few different cars and clean the surfaces.

I've used various suction cup mounts (all via amazon) to the windshield and yes they do sometimes fallout but that's the price. Not had one fall while being used, just if the car sits closed up on a very hot sunny day.
Nice to be able to remove it simply. I'm not willing to attach one to the plastic parts of my 30 year old dash which is in very good condition. Great that it can be removed easily, the only type I would consider.

The Rennline one just fits around the clock that slides in and out of the hole in the dash. Not permanent and easy to install or remove. Touches no plastics...

I have the Redline phone mount in my ‘68 and find I knock the phone off the holder almost every time I use it. Problem with windshield mounts is the sun overheating the phone. I have a different Redline mount in theCayenne and it’s perfect.

I have one in my daily driver that uses the CD player slot as the mount. Works great. I rarely/never use the CD player as my car has a Bluetooth and USB slot.

That level would probably pull the laminate glue right through the glass, Deez!

I made my own using a piece of flat bar and one of the magnetic mounts It is inserted between the vent and the dash. Solid and secure.
