Engine lids...What are they worth?

Just picked up a couple of engine lids from an estate sale. Any idea of what these are worth?

Thanks! Hoping I can parlay them into a nice set of BBS RS wheels. Just a little lost on what they are worth. I got them at a price I couldn’t pass up.

I'd say $325-$450 each in that condition. Not much more - unless one is aluminum.

You might be able to buy one wheel.

Looking for 16x7 & 16x8.
Yeah looks like it’s not going to cover the cost of the wheels.

That early lid is worth $500 at least, if not rusty, do a search for lids on the 911 for sale forum here, that will give you asking prices and if someone is looking for one.

I just paid $500 for a clean, no rust G body decklid. No grill or hardware. I felt that was all the money, but it was local and ready to go.

If other readers are shopping, I’ve got one off my old 65 912. I can dig it out and take pictures. Happy to ship. PM me with reasonable offers.

Yeah, I would say that's all the money. I dislike when people say "Oh, I remember when..." lines, but I paid $100 for one in 2012, then I bought a better one for $200, and an even better one at $225 and these were all for G Body midyears. So I would probably peg a nice one at twice this - at $450 or so - but I agree that's all the money.

Earlier ones probably command a premium but I don't know.

One reason G model lids have increased is because people are removing the wings that were added.

Which is really fantastic. Wings on anything other than a 930 or a '75 Carrera, or maybe a Carrera 3.0 are so over-the-top for me. I'm not a wing guy, but I can see where people like them because that was the fashion and style.

There is a guy on a FB page who is looking to sell a set of 7&8X16 gold BBS RS wheels.

Many vintage 911s must now be owned by people who are blind, confused about the cars they have (it's supposedly a sports car - not a squashed VW bug looking grocery getter), fashionistas that only go with the latests trends (and do not care about the hard data that proves that the lift-prone, 911 shape handles much better with a tail and front lip - those form over function boyz!!!), or some funky combination of the three!
