Crashed red '88

Too bad, this seems like it was someone's pride and joy.
Clean fan and clean rear seats.

Parts car !

Never leave your keys where your teenagers can find them!!

JMS935 02-03-2019 09:36 AM

The inside is at least in really good shape.

SalParadise 02-03-2019 09:56 AM

$19K is way too high unless I was able to set my eyes on it and check all gaps, not to mention underneath. If it's a hood/fender/front pan area it could be OK - but with all that bodywork I would not do it. It's no bargain at $19K - unless you want the engine and pieces. I believe fixing it would not be worth it - but then again so many people bring much worse back from the dead around here.

Yeah I saw it pop up yesterday. That thing is done and done. It is worth the asking price to someone looking for the parts, but otherwise not a value for someone looking to part it out, to much effort for to little profits.

Also after looking further at the itty bitty pictures, i'm pretty sure that front right wheel is not attached to the car anymore. Plus it is a restored car, seats have been redone, RS door panels, looks like aftermarket carpet, probably recently painted... gauges not installed properly :) Although you never know, maybe the motor/gearbox has had a recent rebuild - after all it is clean and looks like someone loved it. Might be a bargain if it just had a $25K rebuild.

Duck tail also. Def. someone's project. Unfortunate.

Easy just for parts alone.

That clean fan and ducktail is probably worth an extra $5K to guys like Sugarwood.

I have a guards red 88 coupe and I would love some of the parts off this car. Rear bumper with out the big pillows, the duck, the wheels.

Any one want some of the other stuff?

The motor and the trans have to be worth $15k easily.

My car is a 68k mile car and very nice.

I don't need the interior.

ed317 02-03-2019 12:16 PM

I tried 15K
it wont take bids under 19,900

ed317 02-03-2019 12:19 PM

I went 15 because I want the drive train and other parts......
But salvage title is a problem, I have a beautiful 89 with a salvage title, I put 50K into it but the title kills the resale value

trader220 02-03-2019 12:22 PM

Looking for one of you guys who buys these things to partner up with, I can live without the wheels if that sweetens the deal, I am really looking for the duck, and the rear bumper. maybe some other odds and ends.

I can buy it as a dealer if need be.

Drivetrain alone is worth 15K.

Sell the rest to Sugarwood and Trader.

trader220 02-03-2019 12:27 PM

Lets put a deal together!

Rear Bumper
Duck

Maybe brakes
Seat belts
Some of the AC parts

Maybe the muffler, and other exhaust parts too.

If someone want's the motor / trans someone wants the interior

Bingo

The Ebay listing on this car is a scam . The car is for sale at auction time with copart. This car will easily do low to mid 20s + auction fee and transport which is another 2k . Be very careful when bidding at insurance auctions unless you take the time to inspect or send someone to do so . Its likely front oil cooler and lines are damaged and its hard to tell if the engine may have been damaged as a result .Good to all on this 88.

Low to mid 20’s?!? Holy hell! That’s what I paid for my running, driving SC a couple years ago. Do G50 cars really carry that big of a premium even when they are totaled?

I guess if you took the time to part it out entirely and wanted the hassle of photographing, listing, haggling, packing and shipping everything you could probably get $20k out of it.

The motor and trans would get you 75% of the way to $20 grand. The wheels would get you pretty close to all the way there.

sugarwood 02-06-2019 12:34 PM

It's currently at $14k

Auction ends on
Mon. Feb 11, 2019
10:00 AM EST

I don't think you can see expired auction results
so one of you retired guys needs to watch this auction at 10am
if we want to know the final sale price.

Or it may show up here
