Diamond Blue Driver BaT 87 Carrera- Will it hit 50K?

Cool wheels and a peppy rebuilt 3.2 might push it over. Also gotta love that Diamond Blue!

No it will not.

They did an injustice to the car by putting on those wheels and that cheesy steering wheel.

Sorry but BaTs descriptions are getting more legal, lawyer-like and hilarious every day - glossing over the truth and painting it in a whole different light.

I had to laugh at this one:

"Some moisture is described at the valve and timing covers. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a G50 5-speed manual transaxle, and the half shafts have been replaced."

Moisture huh? That's rich. I would call them several oil leaks.

This is how any normal person would write it:

"The engine has leaks in several areas" or if you are wanting to gloss it "The engine is weeping racing motor oil in all the areas that usually leak."

I'm guessing around $40k or so. Looks to be a fun driver with some nice mods. Seller has a great rep. Doesn't look like it will pass CA smog right now.

10.3 compression on CA pee fuel and been running it single plug? This will be a great deal for the seller if engine has been pinging...

I don't hate those wheels and the 930 Steering Wheel is a great addition in my opinion. lookst like a $38-40K normal price car so I imagine it will go for $44-48 on BAT.

I decided to practice my BaT writing skills for this auction.

"The robust vintage audio component features dual analog displays and is at home under the bonnet with a vintage sub aquatic lead based liquid power source (read: boat anchor battery.)"

164k miles will limit the upside.
Mileage is king unless it's a full blown restoMod

Just saw this. This is hilarious, and sadly true. There is a BaT style book.

The wheels were worth an extra 5k. A lot of deferred maintenance on this puppy.

Should have installed a matching outlaw steering wheel instead of that boring junk.

That's another $5K right there.

$60K easy.

Once again, it's amazing what Magnus-esque bling does to people. It spellbinds them. Take your $5K wheels, remove them, and then it's a $42K Carrera with 168K on the chassis with engine work that did not go all the way? I would not spend $42K on that car.

There were people on there saying "Best Carrera on BaT in awhile" and myriad other cheers. That's rich.

I guess the wheels are worth an extra $5K because you can buy them right now, today at $5K.

My advice to any owners who plan to auction their 911 on BaT is to buy these wheels immediately and put them on prior to photos - post haste.

Nothing new here. Wheels have always made a big difference on cars. I learned this lesson 40 years ago when people slapped shiny mag wheels on a plain jane worn out 2 door hardtops and sold them to teenagers.
