Love it. I wonder if it'll hit 70?

trader220 02-19-2019 08:23 AM

Looks like its going to be very over priced and its already over hyped.

For the price this car is going to sell for I would expect the condition to be a lot better. Get past the stickers and duck tail.

Mocker 02-19-2019 09:08 AM

Already above $61k...are buyers looking past the boudoir photos and reading the fine print?

The cruise control, passenger-side mirror, and rear window wiper are inoperable, and the seller notes illuminated seat belt, washer fluid, and spoiler dash lights.
For $61K+, you get custom touches , like these:

Agreed, but it goes to show you that stance+wheels > purist perfection

Thing looks incredible..... from 15 ft away. :D

You mean you're not willing to pay extra for the cracked lens and "ricer" taped X ?

Bwahahahhaha. That's hilarious. This photo alone of the taped X should make people run away - but it will not.

trader220 02-19-2019 09:47 AM

$75k or more?

SalParadise 02-19-2019 09:54 AM

Lots of Krylon under the wheel arches. This is one of those cars that will represent a time period in the Porsche 911 retro-mod hype. Interesting, but it's been beat for 75K miles since last rebuild, or should I say, refurbishment?? There is very little "moisture" around the engine - however if you look at the photos of the trans and motor it seems they only cleaned what they could get to - and the upper parts still have "moisture" on them.

Whatever. To me it takes very little to get people excited about a 911 mod. Wheels, decals, shift knob, wheel - per usual.

At least this thing does not have the dreaded words "sunroof delete" in it and it actually has a sunroof.

Mocker 02-19-2019 10:04 AM

^Those two words, "sunroof delete," adds $20k. :D

specialtyoneinc 02-19-2019 10:09 AM

Driver quality. Not my style but there is a ton of hype for modded 964s so it should do well. Wouldn't be surprised if it goes into the $70s. Probably will need another $10k to sort it out though.

Matt Monson 02-19-2019 10:44 AM

What a joke.

gtc 02-19-2019 12:16 PM

Haters gonna hate.
I'd rather have this than the base model 1998 C2S that sold for $106,000 yesterday.

sugarwood 02-19-2019 12:25 PM

Yes, "it will hit 70" is an understatement.

"Car has $55k in service not including the widebody, wheel, tire, paint"
As someone said, "90 percent Singer for 10 percent of the cost."

Seller is getting a ton of street cred in the comments.
Pro paint, pro photos, pro interior. Everyting top shelf.

964's are the most rare and costly air cooled cars.

For someone who wants the center of attention at C&C, this is it.

Meanwhile, the morons of BAT are focusing on the $10 fog light lens.
Classic.

I'm calling the price a joke, not the car. Car looks like a decent driver and I've always preferred a black Martini over a white one, and I hate black.

juanbenae 02-19-2019 01:45 PM

ive seen something on this car at one time. can't recall where, but as I recall it was a track centric car in the story.

911boost 02-19-2019 01:46 PM

think the flares and bumpers are Porsche items?

Exactly. There's nothing that can't be put right on this $35k car. Rip off the stickers, fix a few things, drive the crap out of it. The price, however, is pure insanity. There's an '85 Turbo (admittedly, it's a slant conversion) that's having trouble getting bids above $60k right now.

Update: 85 Turbo slant conversion reserve not met at $61.5k.

I believe it was stated the bumpers are fiberglass.

Cobalt 02-20-2019 07:15 PM

When did we get to the point when a rush job using Rhino liner on the interior, slapping on some metal flairs by lap instead of butt welding, painting before the filler and primer have properly cured and adding decals within hours of paint constitute Pro anything?? The world has turned upside down and BS is the new norm.

If this weren't such a rush build maybe it would be worth something but the money already bid is far too much and a quick paint refresh would IMO make this car worth more than all the fluff. I guess common sense went out the window with fancy photos and graphics.

trader220 02-20-2019 08:10 PM

The more I look at this car the worse it looks to me. Slapped together.

Truck bed spray on liner as an interior? Really?
