1989 911

Hi all - I was told that I could get decent information from this discussion board.
I have a 1989 911 Carrera for sale.
It has 14,000 original miles on it. It was my husband’s and he did not drive it much.
I would like to get a ball park figure on its value.
I had it cleaned up when he died but it has been sitting in the garage for the last eight years. It will need to be flat bedded out since the gas is probably bad.
I would appreciate any help you could give me.
Thanks.

14,000 is low mileage. It really depends on the condition, history, color of the vehicle. If it's all original and in good/excellent condition, it can easily be worth $70k if not more due to the low mileage. Flatbed it to your local air cooled specialist and get it sorted. Where are you located and I'm sure someone can recommend a reputable shop. Take your time. Don't rush and unload it. Best of luck.

Post your city and get some shop recommendations. The pelican community pretty much knows everyone and will steer you in a good direction.

Get together any documentation you can which verifies the mileage. Take the car to a shop or find a local Porsche guru who wants to undertake getting the car back up to top mechanical condition. Be ready to spend a few thousand getting it there - It will pay many times over to do so.

Was it running and driving well eight years ago when it was parked?

There are too many factors which influence value to give a proper range. Color, options, originality (paint and interior), mechanical condition, documentation all matter a lot when you're talking about such a low-mileage example. As stated - the car is valuable - find a reputable person or shop check it out and take your time.

Watch out for snakes. You're a prime target. Be careful.

Unfortunately, this was the first thing that popped into my head. If you're not used to / comfortable with selling a car, seems like a really good candidate for a cosign sale by an experienced, reputable dealer.

Do NOT respond privately to any private messages. I would suggest you keep asking all your questions openly on the forum you started. Privately someone can try and convince you that they are taking care of you, publicly with everyone watching, they can't. Your husband had GREAT tastes!!

I think this is the 1st time I have seen a 1 post member totally trusted ~ yet advised that they watch anyone who contacts them...

Anyone ever hear the old adage "...Will you walk into my parlour, said a Spider to a Fly..."

I hate it, but that was my 1st thought when I read the original post. Lord what has this world come to?

That is an excellent point. That is the era we are in.

To the lady with the car, please post some pictures. Perhaps one from all exterior four sides, an engine shot, a front trunk shot, driver and passenger seats, dashboard, all four rims. This could help your sale, if it’s genuine as the previous poster highlighted.

It could be another 8 years before she takes pics of the car and posts them. That sure seems like a long period of time to let your widow’s car sit unused in the garage after their passing. If that is the case, though, she sure got lucky with the market improvement in that 8 year timeframe.

To all I Met Holly last week grocery shopping. Havnt seen it but it’s for real. The wrx I posted in the jap car thread was also hers. You’ll notice my car in the background that’s how it led to her 89. She for real and just looking for ball park figures of what it’s worth so she doesn’t get robed. I sent her here.

My friend just sold his very clean 89 for $55k and it had 90k miles, a 100K mile white 89 or 88 sold on BAT for over $60,000 so yours at this low mileage and if its mechanically sound and cosmetically clean would be worth quite a bit more.

I think you should get someone near you who is an enthusiast and there are many on this board to help you take good pics, videos & collect as much info on the car and list it for sale on BAT for maximum exposure.

Good luck

Near $60K is possible. Depends on a bunch of details.
