Cross country shipping

Hope this is the right forum for this.

What would be the best companies to contact for shipping a car (968) from the west coast to Florida?

I would prefer enclosed just because of the distance but it is not a concourse level car.

Should I avoid brokers and go direct? Never done this before, but I want to get it right.

I use a transport company out of the SF Bay area that I highly recommend. Just shipped a car from CT to Naples, FL. Working on getting another shipped from Sacramento to NJ. Great team to work with and incredibly professional. Frankie Chiu is the contact.

I just used Plycar to ship a Cadillac XLR from Tucson, Arizona to Ohio 2 months ago....Price was the best from the major carriers, communication was a little iffy at first, but all went well in the end, I have also used Reliable and Intercity with great results

Reliable has a hub in LA and Orlando. You will save money if you drop off and pick up at their hubs.

I just recently had a 912 shipped from NY to CA and got a dozen or so quotes. Montway was by far the least expensive and they shipped the car out in a covered truck for $1450 in only 4 days!

Something to consider is the type of trailer being used and if there is a tray under cars on an upper deck. The tray prevents leaking engine oil, coolant etc from dripping down on your car from the one above. The larger private companies (Intercity, Reliable, Horseless Carriage) come to mind. I've used Intercity and was quite pleased. They kept me updated as the car was in transit and arrived on time.

Plycar. Have used several times, always with a good experience. Family owned company that owns the trucks and employs the drivers. No broken telephone games with brokers and indy drivers.

Thanks everyone. I went with Plycar
Intercity did not service my route and reliable was to much $$

I wanted to avoid a broker so Plycar won. I will update on the service when the car arrives

Farris & Sons has done good by me on many occasions. Just ran a quote against some of the above and it was equal to the cheapest but I've used them numerous times so I prefer to use what I know works
