I can't really help due to the year, but in the past I heard its probably better sold in the sum of its parts for the best return?

That’s a ‘75 USA 3-spd. First 3 speed version in ‘75. Many other 3-spd versions followed. $1500 +/- depending on how bad someone needs it.

Yeah, $1500 is about right.

I've never seen one in a 912e, but anything is possible. They were getting pretty rare by the mid 70s. Only 500-600 were built in 1975.

thanks a lot, for sure its from a 1975 911S, i decided to put a 5 speed in it. Who knows for collectability in the future a 911 Sportomatic is going to be super rare as many followed the same traject as me. BTW also have the 2 pedals and rest if somebody is interested.

I bought a used 4-speed sporto box for parts about 2 years ago for less than $500 through the mechanic who was rebuilding it for me. Internals were in excellent shape and likely pulled for a 5-speed manual replacement. Not sure $1500 is realistic unless you find someone who needs this to bring a car close to matching numbers. If you search the classifieds, you’ll probably see a few sportos that have been for sale for quite some time.

geshaghi, not sure if that was a good deal. As your story is not complete without telling us how much more you spend at your mechanic + how much he recovered if the rebuilt was part of the deal. Thanks pingpong.

I bought a 925 4-speed sporto to use for parts to rebuild my matching numbers transmission. All of the internals were in very good shape. I think this will be for sale for a long time at $1500 unless you find the owner of the matching car.

My number is based on the fact that this includes the servo motor and release parts, as well as the torque converter. If it were just the gearbox alone my number would be closer to George's.
