82 911SC Targa Valuation

Sentimental buy almost two years ago - still on the trailer!

167k on the car, good interior, poor paint, no frame rust, good records but no records of a top end that was supposedly done at 120k. Car starts but I have not driven it because I had to take the brake pads out to get it on the trailer. Also, the car sat for five years before I bought it, covered, but it will need gas lines, etc. But it did fire right up.

I know, sentimental buy but I wanted to help the owner.

I had plans, but my workload remains high with no slack in slight so I want to sell it. Any suggestions are welcome.

Comes with original engine lid and front valance.

$22k? I’d contact BringaTrailer- projects can do well on there.

I plan on doing that - can you contact BAT and discuss price?

I have been tracking auctions there, ebay, etc...

I appreciate your input although I think you may be giving the car the benefit of doubt

BAT comes up with the reserve for the car being auctioned. Depending on how large your cojones are- could always do a no reserve auction.

"No frame rust" means what? I'd post it here and Samba at $20K and hold fast. Crap paint hurts, but it has Fuchs and that tail is better looking than the tea tray IMHO.

I spent a lot of time under the car before I bought it - I did not see any rust - is there a better way to describe not seeing rust?

This is my 7th 911 sprinkled in with 2 356 and a 912.

Looking for help and your comment was welcomed.

I wouldn't use that term. If the car is rust free I would state as you did immediately above: been under and all over the car extensively and found no rust . That's a huge plus for a car in your area. "No frame rust" implies rust in other areas maybe. Plus, technically there is no "frame" on a 911.

Agreed. On a targa, I read that and think the door sills aren’t rusted but maybe the rear floors are.

I’d be interested in this car around $20k.
