What Porsche dealerships were in So Cal in 1973?
I have a 1973 (not 1973.5) 911 T. I have documentation on work orders going back to 1981. Based on the work orders, it would seem that there were four owners before me. The earliest owner I show lived in Westlake Village, CA. The second in Sherman Oaks, CA. So, both San Fernando Valley residents. I was 7 years old in '73. And actually, mine is an early T so it likely sold in 1972. What L.A. area dealerships existed back then and is there anyway to verify which dealership sold my car? I have a COA, but that of course is no help. Any input would be appreciated.

Check the owners manual for service stamps? Absent the window sticker that’s the only thing I can think of.

A couple big ones in that area back in the 70s were Rusnak (Valley) and Staub (Santa Monica). Cant say for sure if they were around in 73.

Thanks guys. I'm on the road but will check my owner's manual for stamps when I return in a few days. I have both owner's manuals, but don't remember ever seeing any stamps or mention of dealership in them. But they could be there.

Still here

The dealership listing is a separate booklet, long lost or tossed in most cases.

Hermosa Beach
In the early 2000s i bought a tangerine 70S in Carson City NV. Needed a lot of work, moreover there was no engine no. i.e off the shelf case. Chasing down the Reno shop that did the previous work, found to be out of bus. What i remember very distinctly was the original receipt which was at just over 4000 dollars. 4300 about does this make sense? Anyway, Hermosa Beach. Remember that very well.
Good luck with your search! bernard

How do you know it was LA area Dealer?
Mesa Porsche in the 70's - my 74 came from them, now Porsche San Diego. If anyone has a Mesa license frame they want to sell, please PM me. |

Ogner Porsche/Ferrari in the 80's for sure.
Maybe Hollywood Sports Cars would have sold them as well? They were the first Ferrari dealer |
