Search Engines reccomendations?

I have begun looking for a 911. I want to make sure I do an expansive search but i haven't bought anything from other than the local dealer in a long while.

I'm aware of auto trader, car gurus, and facebook.. but can any of you suggest other search engines that might be better for finding cars out there?

Unless i find one around the kern county area of Cali, I think ill be stuck going with a dealer somewhere. I am also fine with searching out of state.

Just hoping for some search engine suggestions.

Lots of good cars on the Porsche Club of America website.

Thank you. I was not familiar with that site.

Unless you’re already a member that site makes zero sense to shop at, as you can’t even contact the seller otherwise. I’d never sign up for something like that just to get someone’s contact info. Who knows...maybe others would.

Rennlist and of course Pelican always have a good selection of used Porsches for sale. At one time I had a search tool that looked at large geographical areas of the country on Craigslist but can no longer locate it.

Here is one you may not be familiar with: https://classiccars.com/search/advanced

Good luck.

Best listings here at Pelican and Rennlist, but SearchTempest/AutoTempest is a good tool that combines all cities in CL, plus EBay and others. You can get all the dealers at once via nationalpreownedporsche.com.

Oodle.com is another site that searches other classified sites. Here is a link to everything 60 miles from Bakersfield. You can obviously adjust the parameters yourself.

i’ve had great luck here on pelican. the samba is a good resource as matt said.

i’m just up the road from you in visalia. what type of 911 are you specifically looking for? i come across cars from time to time in our area. if you know what you’re looking for i’ll keep an eye out.

buying a 911 from a dealer is not ideal. there are only a handful that i’ve come across that i would trust, and there is a premium to be paid there.

make friends, be patient...

Thanks for the offer. my gaze is kinda open. I'm mostly looking at 997 or 991's. I'm looking for a cabriolet stick shift. Would love to go turbo and AWD but those are icing on the cake for me. Would even consider a 996 with all its faults if the price is right and it is a turbo AWD.

From what I have found so far I don t think i can afford anything newer than a 2013. The reason I'm kinda stuck with the dealer is my credit union from which is going to finance the car requires the seller to go to one of their branches. They are local to the county So that makes it hard to go with private party much further out than you. However, if i find that car that i just have to have, i could go with a more mainstream bank and pay a bit more... Hence the dealer option.

I have had nothing but great experiences here at pelican back when I had my 914. That's why I stayed dormant but around.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I am in no hurry and am taking my dear sweet time to look. Which is part of why I am looking for search engine suggestions. I want as good of a virtual shopping mall as I can get.
