Plastic chips in oil

1999 996, c4, 3.4ltr

After replacing the oil cover, my mechanic found these plastic chips.

He suggested several suggestions, but that's all they were ..nothing specific.

Has anyone ever seen anything like this ?
Thanks

You would probably get more responses in the proper tech forum (this is the Marketplace discussion forum), but the only thing in these engines that results in plastic shavings and chips is damage to the timing chain ramps (misalignment of the drive and driven chain wheels, and/or not enough tension on the chains due to chain tensioner problems).
