What's it Worth? 73.5 Sunroof Coupe
 

I just purchased a 73.5 911T Sunroof Coupe from the estate of the original owner. The vehicle has leather seats and factory AC. The car has 85K original miles. Original paint (Tangerine) that is in surprisingly good shape and should clean up nicely. The original leather seats are in excellent shape and show little wear. I have found no signs of rust other than the rear tag panel. The car is 100 percent complete. All knobs, switches, etc. are original and in excellent shape. The car has the original Blaupunkt AM/FM. There are no cracks whatsoever in the dash. The original carpets are filthy but should clean up nicely. I am assuming the headliner will need replacing as it is horribly discolored and I am doubtful that it will clean up. All 5 Fuchs are in excellent shape. The spare and original tool roll are present.

The vehicle appears to be original in every way. The original owner parked the vehicle in a garage where it has sat untouched for 26 years. Luckily the batteries were removed prior to storage. I am not certain but am hopeful that the fuel was drained prior to storage.

I was curious what this vehicle (as it sits) may be worth in today's market? I will post photos this weekend when I pick the vehicle up

73.5 = by default a 911T? or is it an E or an S? So, I assume a 911T.. $50-90K.

The color & the non-cracked dash are all the money.

Original paint+original interior+tools, etc? Service history or other way to prove mileage?

Either way, $80k-$120K once it's up and running, depending on color and condition.

Thanks! This is very helpful. My intent is refresh the car while maintaining as much originality as possible. Once I get the car home and cleaned up I will post photos. Next step will be to find an excellent paint/body to repair and blend the defects. I believe I will be able to have at least 90 percent original paint. All original interior should clean up nicely except for possibly a new headliner. Then onto drivetrain. I assume at a minimum I am looking at an engine and transmission reseal, all new hydraulic lines, MFI rebuild, Etc as well as A/C rebuild. Any recommendations for body as well as mechanical work? I am located within the Southeast US and would prefer someone in the area but would go elsewhere if necessary..... I just want the car done right. Any suggestions/ guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I’d say this is a somewhat pointless exercise without images, as noted from the low estimate of 50k all the way up to a high estimate of 120k. That kind of price range can’t really help all that much. These seem to pop up weekly, and rarely without any images, and usually from brand new members. Hmm.

Maybe we should all try guessing the number of jelly beans in a jar without seeing the jar with the jelly beans in it. I wonder how accurate that exercise would be. I’m just saying...

Thanks you all for the info. I understand that it is impossible to give a true fair market assessment without detailed photos. This information is helpful as I am just trying to establish a range at this point. My intent is to keep the car. I owned several early 911's in the nineties, I wish I still had them. However it appears I purchased this one right so now it is on to a complete refurbish keeping the vehicle in as original condition as possible.

the value of 'original paint' disappears completely if that original paint can't be saved. Once this car no longer wears its original paint, this whole discussion becomes very different....still could be a nice car.

Finally, the 1973.5T values were separated from the 1973T values in the Excellence price guidance and the 1973.5T is now recognized as the last of the longhoods and unique to the mark having the first CIS in addition to other refinements. I asked Bruce Anderson years ago why the 73.5T never stood alone in price evaluation and he felt it just fell into the general 1973 category. The 73.5T overall is a great drivers car and like all longhoods a blast to drive. I love posting this photo of my "T" with its original fuchs wheels complete with hand painted center caps, factory AC and tinted windows, the yellow hella fog lights, sunroof, "S" trim, signature bumperettes and more. Say what you want about Sepia Brown, but I love it!

Sunroof, your 73.5 is gorgeous. Everything mine aspires to be ;). The previous owner just sent me a few photos from when we were pulling it out of storage. I will post here shortly.

As the former owner of a 73.5T, it's interesting that nearly every single one was imported into the US with the S trim, AND the chrome wheel trim, which I think is snazzy.

Couldn't agree more. Such an unfortunate attempt to meet U.S. Standards.
I could never have a 100% stock 73. Those bumper overrides would be removed.
