71T coupe on gas burners $42k at Mecum

I caught the hammer on this car totally by accident but was a bit surprised. Was this car tired and the bidders knew it or is this really how far the longnose has fallen???

Allot of experts / dealers in the room at Monterey. Probably had some major needs. Sold for $46,200 all in. Seems cheap but who knows.

In other news this 77 Beetle just hammered at $55k plus fees.

Hard to know without more details or being there to examine the car, but the pics do raise some question marks.

If no issue (unlikely), that's a nice buy.

All things considered, this does look like a decent buy. I've been watching the market for late-year longhoods (71-73) pretty closely lately. Anything below 50k, unless a complete rust bucket, is a buy.

save it nutz. your incessant trolling recently has consumed what little credibility you had to begin with. you can't be a c{}unt troll (credit Bernie's for this description) and then expect to contribute like a member in good standing and be taken seriously.

your rep is in the toilet where it belongs currently and it will take a long time to get that stink off ya, if ever. by all means, carry on, maybe there's something left to salvage but I doubt it.

Never understood why auction commisions are reflected in the "sale price" for valuation purposes but not other acquisition costs. Looks like car has some interesting history on the RR. Given LH's have flatlined for 2 years or so, sale price doesn't look out of whack per condition.

I’m not buying that Pmax follows them because they are on Zenith carbs. He’s no Fred Flinstone. Maybe more of a Barney Rubble.

The Colonel got that right about the carbs. I would rip that stuff outta there, good way to ruin an engine.

Just need to be shopping Es or 73.5. Or can’t you afford that?

$46k is still crazy money for a long hood. 10 years ago they were $15k
