1967 911 sunroof coupe S/N 308207 value cash/or cash + later car

A family member recently acquired a 67 911 sunroof coupe. The COA states the car was originally Irish Green. Sometime in the 1980's, the car had SC flares welded on the rear of the car. Recaro seats were installed, and the color was changed to red. We have a couple of other cars which fall into the category of being total garage queens or needing major restoration. This car will probably be put up for sale sooner or later. I am interested in possible value or might consider trade for LWB car plus cash

You're going to need to post some photos. The values can vary greatly based on original parts, original drivetrain, rust, overall condition and how easily it can be put back to stock specs.

What he said. Just saying Recaro seats means nothing. Factory seats were Recaro. Sport seats were Recaro. VW seats from an 80's Golf are Recaro. Some are worth $5000 a seat. Some are worth $100.

67 911 Photos

I have snapped a few photos with my cell phone. This car has some rust in pan and we will probably take some better pictures in the future. We currently have a couple of BMW 2002 projects, and with this car, we might have bitten off more than we can easily digest. We might consider to sell this car or trade for a LWB car plus cash. Otherwise, we will slowly go through it .

Take a picture of the engine number that is on the right support for the fan housing. It may have its original engine but it's hard to tell. The fiberglass shroud is not correct as it would have been black originally. But since the diecast fan housing doesn't have coil studs then that would indicate a 67 or 68 manufacture date. A matching drivetrain number will increase the value of your vehicle.

Looks like a good solid restoration candidate, but besides the paint work and rust repair that I'm sure you're aware of, it will need:

1. The chrome windows and trim have been painted black...will have to be replaced with original.

2. Needs new short wheelbase rear quarters...used ones are next to impossible to find, but you can buy a pair new here for about $5000 shipped: Restoration Design: 911/912 Exterior

3. It has long wheelbase fenders. New short wheelbase front fenders...again hard to find used, but a new pair is $5000 shipped see link above.

4. It has long wheelbase front and rear light buckets and lenses, and long wheelbase horn grilles.

5. Those Recaros are from the 1980s, and while they would be good in a race car, the car needs the original low back seats.

The above parts are big bucks, but I'll be first to jump in with a value around $20,000 if it's numbers matching and rust free other than floors. Do you have any pictures of the underside? Rear torsion bar and rear seat area are rust trouble spots on these.

Before I'd jump in at 20k I'd need inspection of the torsion bar holders and floorpans.... lot's of places here that can move the value of the car. This car, as is, would make for a good base to hotrod, but if its all numbers matching, gearbox and engine, you could have a nice car here.

Additionally, you need a PPI to determine if it has been in a wreck and repaired. New or out of place/series fenders are always a heads up for me. I'm not saying this is the case with this car!

I love this car. If you are considering buying it and the PPI shows zero wrecks and matching numbers you could be looking at a 20k+ car, not a 20k or less car.

I have kept this car and after going through brakes, fuel system, and engine plan to replace pan and install correct flares. I got most pieces from Restoration Design. Can anyone recommend a good shop to install pan in the Philadelphia or Lancaster area. I would be grateful for any help.

What are the "correct flares" ? If the original drivetrain is not there, I would go full Singer on it !

It's incredible how popular Guards Red was in the 80s. It seems to have been THE 911 color to have.

Going to trailer car and sheet metal to RS Werkes in Parkesburg, PA. I have collected pan and a used SWB Quarter from Restoration Design in 2016. Anyone have thoughts, please advise
