Are the prices cooling?
I was just looking and it seems like the prices on everyones hated hot spot have cooled a lot on air-cooled's over the last year...
Anyone else notice the trend down over the last year? I hope it drops off a cliff maybe I can get parts cheaper... lol since i've already been soaked on my car ![]() |

I wasn't sure, I don't follow it closely at all. I just figured prices would fall after I bought, it's the luck I bring LOL

Parts prices won’t charge one bit, even if the alleged bubble pops. Manufacture costs are manufacturing costs. The two aren’t linked in the way you seem to think.

Geronimo -
Tell me when you can’t take anymore pain and sell yours, then I’ll know it’s the bottom. I’ll buy me some more turbos at that point. ![]() |

One thing that is definitely not cooling is the fuuuuuckin air temperature in Ft. Worth TexASS - 100 today, 101 tomorrow, 102-103 Friday and Saturday (then upper 90s all next week - woooohoooo, a cold front!!!). That means a work environment for me that is 106 by noon and 115+ by about 3PM - really SUX!!!

Prices on everything have been down all across the board...bat is over saturated and curious when sellers will get the clue that they have to do 10x the work and 10x the stress and most of those auctions are selling for Craigslist prices nowadays...

I sent Deez a pic yesterday of the river of condensation flowing out of my Meatlocker's evaporator drain following a 20 minute drive home - don't know what the humidity level was at the time, other than it was nasty.

Bleck. Saw an ad for a Motorsport mansion down there recently. It was less than my crappy little 1975 ranchette here would sell for. But I just couldn't do the humidity.

Latest EXCELLENCE Evaluation Edition for 2019-2020 showed a decrease of about 5% for the Air-Cooled Models. Example: a 1973.5T 911 is now 42K to 92K depending on condition. Last years Edition showed a high of 100K.
I have bragged about it before; I bought my 1973.5T with a complete restoration 20 years ago for $9,900 and my mechanic who did the PPI said, I should offer less! Today, I figure its a 65K-80K car based on the latest market trend. Its like buying IBM stock back in 1955 and selling today! Sure, I spent about 7K-8K over that time period freshening things up here and their, but the days of Porsche bargains in the longhood line is GONE. Unless you are willing to spend 100K-150K for a total restoration at a decent shop your better off settling for a well sorted 944, Boxster or 996/997 and nothing is wrong with that. Bob 1973.5T |

Maybe the air is cooling so much that there’s a 911 winter coming...

I would not put that sale at way over market. But I'm not the Turbo expert either.
