Are manual regular seats worth anything?
 

Hey guys,

My 1977 911S came with a set of somewhat broken manual seats, they are not in horrible condition but clearly need new seat foam and to be reupholstered.

With the prices of used old Porsche parts continually climbing, are these worth anything nowadays, e.g. because they are lighter than electric seats (I assume)? I am going with aftermarket bucket seats so would like to now a fair price to sell them for.

Should I keep the sliders or will they not fit anyway, e.g. with Deser or BF Torino seats?

They are worth very little. I know because I have two sets of midyear comfort seats. 200 ea for good cores, maybe $200 for the set you show above. The silver lining is that they might be worth something for a midyear restoration down the road. In that case, I guess they are worth storing, but hardly imho. Keep the sliders. They are worth more than the seats probably. I don't think they work in a bolt on sense with aftermarket seats. Typically you have to buy the sliders and rails on after market seats. I looked at the BF I think I found you needed their rails, but don't quote me on that.

Sure, they have a value to someone somewhere. It's the shipping that kills you. Greyhound is the best bet, but the cost of going across the country can exceed the selling price of a pair. I had a pair for sale for a while, sold them to a local hot rodder that put them in his Ford pick up.

As a data point, I sold a very good set of "partial leather" SC seats a year or so ago for $400, local pickup. Leather was good (a little dried out), no holes or tears, stitching tight, etc.
