Air cooled Turbo Twists with center caps
Italian made
7.5" and 9" x 17"
Any idea what they are worth?
I thought they'd be worth a grand, but I'm not getting any bites.

They’re probably worth a grand but it’ll be 200 to ship them and no one wants to pay $1200 for them. Put them up for $800 and I bet they’d move

Are those factory or aftermarket? With a 17" version, they are either aftermarket, or the 986 Boxster version. The big question is if you are willing to hold out for that buyer to come that will pay you that $1000, or just dump them to clear up space in the garage?

Personally, if they were the 18" factory turbo wheels you could get $1000. However, those wheels are plentiful in regular style, more rare in the hollow spoke style. The big problem is they are very dated looking, and many with air cooled cars, now want to go to factory, OEM, wheels meant for their specific car.

Uhmmm, if they're G body offset, then they're replicas by definition, I thought?

Because all the genuine ones would be ABS offset and require spacers (and maybe longer wheel studs) to fit to pre-964 cars.

I upgraded my winter wheels to G body 17" Cup 1 reps with a perfectly good set of Blizzaks mounted for $400.

The reps are good quality and strong, but heavy. Given that they're also from the wrong era (964/993), not exactly sought after.

These are G body offset. Not really replica because Porsche never made a G body twist.

G body offset, so that means they are aftermarket. Back in the day, those aftermarket wheels were about $150 each, new.

I sold them for $480 cdn ($365 USD) to the only guy that wanted them. Personally I think they are worth twice that, but I wanted the room in my tire rack.
Funny thing was when he picked them up he tells me he is leasing manager at the Porsche dealership. Has a half million dollars of Porsche's in his garage. Yet he had to beat the hell out of me on price. lol
Maybe I got the last laugh as he bought them for his 964 and I don't think they have the same off set.

These turbo twists were really popular on G body 911s in the 90s and early 00s. Not as popular now and styles have changed. Prices come down due to demand.

I sold a set of Gottis about 15 years ago for about $100. Cheap compared to their original cost. But those were also a decade out of style, at that time.

Generally speaking, people with nice things don't get them by throwing money away. Many are cheap MFrs without the social graces to make sellers feel good about providing a good deal.

You are correct, wrong offset for a 964. Your junk is now his junk.

I sold a genuine set of 996 offset twists and could only get $250 for them after 2 years. Just not a desirable wheel anymore.
The big knock on them is they never made passenger side twists that go forward to match the drivers side. Should have had 4 different part numbers. Cheap ****ers. Even low brow Chevy managed to do that with 4 separate wheels for the Corvettes.

I sold a set of 996 twists with old snows on them for $700 a month ago.

If it makes you feel better, I sold the exact turbo twist wheels with 5 year old tires mounted on them (rims and tires were like new) for $450. As mentioned previously, they are not a hot item anymore.

LOL - exactly why I bought Cup1 reps... Once you notice that about the twists, you can't ever unsee it... :D
