Bye Bye 930 - Data Point
Sold the 79 930 to finally slim down. Petrol blue/cork; 44k miles. Nice car. Sold in the $90s and I thought it was market correct. I could have wanted more but it would have sat longer....I felt it was time to move on. I bought the 930 in 2011, and was able to recoup what I bought it for, and all I spent on repairs/maintenance since I purchased it. I will use the rest of the "upside" from the sale to buy my wife a new car, probably a new Outback. I will drive her old CRV as a DD, and start to sympathetically restore the CRX I bought new in 88. I my sell the TR6 but those topics are for another forum...

I see many 930 for sale, in the $90k, you did very well

Congrats.
Petrol Blue is an awesome color and cork is a very nice interior. My ultimate color combo would be Petrol Blue w/ light red but Porsche may have never fitted a car with this color combo. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/1006171-minerva-blue-red-interior-out-there.html |

Charles,
Congrats, glad transaction went well. Phil |
Cars you have left to mess with are not too great, you need another 911.

Humm a Cab
Why? |

I like 'em. He likes his. That's why. |

Why a cab, cause when you’re driving you hear the engine, you get the wind, you get the stars in the sky. In daylight on the Blue Ridge Parkway, you look up and see the trees, the mountains. Why a coupe? Something for everyone!

I think the CRX Si sounds pretty cool also. And he’s owned it since new.

Listen
My question was not to bash a Cab. I just asked because I sold my 78 930 last month. So looking for other cars, never had a Cab, but I see them sometimes $10-30k less then Coupes. So I was looking at a 964 Cab...they made over 2600. But the coupe was only 1200, big difference, and with Porsche geeks they all want Coupes. So thinking |

Nice 930!!
Barrett Jackson Scottsdale 2020 just sold a 1979 930 RoW with 44,000 miles lot 1145.1 for $145,000 Sounds like yours was one I would consider very nice. I would have thought $100,000 would have been easily achieved but sounds like you got close to that. In 10 years these prices will look cheap! However at the rate new cars are going up in MSRP it’s not inconceivable that in 10 years a nice new premium car could eclipse six figures! I do feel like a 930 is as solid of investment in the porsche collector world below $200,000 as can be! |

I’ve got a 90 Prelude Si. Completely stock, original paint, all records from new. I have similar experiences with random people stopping to talk about it. It’s surprising but they are becoming classics to a new generation. |
My buddy had a CRX-HF.....I don’t ever remember having to stop for gas with that thing.
