What’s a 3.2 “core” worth these days?

I’m gonna drop the engine in my 74 and sell it. I don’t know much about it. The car was advertised as a 3l when I bought it, but it’s clearly a1985 based on the type and serial number. The weird thing about it is that is they installed it using the original 1974 CIS. I’m gonna keep the cis stuff and sell it as a longblock.

The car ran great when I picked it up in SoCal. I drove it to Las Vegas where the combination of a cut and paste fuel line and a pesky starter issue convinced me not to finish the drive. I called a shipper and shipped it home. I drove it less than 50 miles after that. It’s been parked a couple years now. I no longer own leakdown or compression tools, do it’s true condition is unknown.

I can palletize and create it for shipping, so am not limited to a local sale.

Thoughts?

I paid 5k for an 87 longblock about two years ago. I don't see them come up that often. Seems like more 3.0s come up on the classified than 3.2s. I might start high and see where it goes, like 9k. You can always come down. Maybe 6500 is reasonable for both parties.

Do you want to sell the whole project?

I do. $20k and it’s yours.

I'm about to go through this with a 3.2 that was in the 72 project Techweenie bought as a roller. I have a 3.2, SSI's and Webers. Over the next few weeks I'll get it on a yoke/stand and get it cleaned up a bit and get leakdown numbers. I'm curious as to values. From a bit of looking and old ads it looks like $5k to $7k for a core.
