Bargain 993TT

Canadian dollar is way down. At $150K CAD, that's $111,000 USD. Good/great deal. Is there a problem with this car?

Sit a little longer and there will be lots of bargains.

Everything is correcting. 3/9/2020.

The Dow? OH DEAR!!

In a year (probably even less), people who panic sold will be kicking themselves and people who sat on the sidelines with cash will be as well. Bears and bulls make money, pigs and sheep get slaughtered.

But....for the hugely over inflated air cooled market, this is the beginning of the end. Prices were already tending down, the market panic kicked that trend into overdrive.

As for that car...any time I see a gas station pic, I move on.

That's one of the reasons the CAD is down so much. I keep an eye on the USD/CAD exchange rate. Hasn't been $1.35 in quite a while.

As the price of oil goes, so does the $CAD. It's not as pronounced now as it was, 20 years ago, but there still is a fair amount of correlation.

The good old days. I used to go up there to ski, pay 50 cents in the dollar for Arc Teryx and other high end climbing goods and sell them to pay for it.

The color is hideous and should command a deep discount (unless one's name is Barbie)!

It's Arena Red and it's gorgeous in person. I'm betting you could get this TT for less than a Big C note. CAD is $1.36 and rising. That's 73.5 cents on the dollar.

Gray interior is Meh though.

Looks like the seller saw this thread and bumped the price to make up for the exchange rate.

What BS. Do the math. His new price is now $11,000 HIGHER in USD than it was this morning.

Arena red was the launch color for that car. It looks very nice in person.

I ran the carfax.... basically no info at all. No mileage entries since 2005. No info in the listing either. Car's not going to sell like that.

Given the basket case that Canada is, that will be a $75K car soon.

Please elaborate. I go there all the time.

And yes, the price went up $15K CAD. Never heard of anyone pricing a car based on the exchange rate.

"Asking $150,000 CAD. Wait, the CAD went down in relation to the USD this morning? Oh crap. OK. Asking $165,000 CAD now."

Yep. If he wants to be paid in US$, just price it in them. The value of a C$ in Canada didn’t change at all.
