BTW I bought the stock wheels from Paul's car long ago. They are now on this ordered new in 1979 930 PTS paint Porsche code #173, " sun burst yellow , built to the current spec in 1983 by Alan Johnson Racing, with Porsche Motorsports supplied parts including Body, suspension ( thru the chassis sway bar, ducted brakes behind the removable fog lights; 8:41 R & P ) and in addition some Andial performance enhancements ( intercooler, enrichment, boost control, ported heads, race cams, exhaust etc. ) from that time. Must have shocked many from the stock 930 crowd back then. I have AJUSA build spec 8 and 10 inch BBS but prefer the Fuchs for now. Paul's 930 will never actually be 'original' again in the purest terms, since I have the original wheels from his car, soooooo, why value it only to what it would be worth returning it to, as it will never be stock ( as originally built when new ), without the Fuchs I now have?
Some have different ideas of what original really means. To be really totally original it should still have the original air in the original tires, original fluids etc if you take it to the perfectly original level. I had one close to that definition not that long ago and it was silly trying to drive it, even very slowly, with the seemingly square tires. A well serviced, well modded and driven 930 can be a good choice especially if you plan to use it.

.. Keep me outta trouble for the next yr or so..

Wondering what offers hes getting this weeK..
Im a local cash buyer at 15K for the blown and repainted 930 .

Just because it’s not what you want doesn’t make it worthless. The cost to change the car back to stock cannot be subtracted from the value.

I showed a $25k bid a few posts back... Still good on my bid.

I wonder if the owner is even watching this thread. He should be negotiating with the highest offer to see if it’s legit.

I think everyone priorities are going to keep changing by the day

If OP has the space and no financial needs he should just put the project to rest

930

My understanding is that the owner isn't desperate and listed the car to test the waters a bit to see what kind of interest would come out of it .I don't see him entertaining anything below the high 40s . I don't think his valuation is crazy but I just don't see a project 930 doing that much . Anyway I think its probably a nice car .

A 356 engine has no place in a 930!!!

mgro1959 03-24-2020 06:15 PM

Gentlemen the world is going thru hardtimes but it will not end. The stock market has tanked and it hurts but it will return. If you have good companies they will survive. On this car if you could get it for high 30's you will do well. If you have a spare engine your laughing. If you can build an engine even better. You have to invest money to make money. This car will not lose value. The cheapest 930's you see now are around 50. You want prestine then double triple quadruple depending on years and milage. They will not make these anymore and when all this crazyness ends they will go up. Start pricing the parts and you will surpass the lowballers easily. Here is oppurtunity. Strike a deal. You only live once and to own a 930 thats a cool dream come true. GLWS Thanks Rob.

A bicycle crank and chain drive would probably be more powerful than a 356 or 912 engine!

Paul did not start the go fund me page. Another forum member started it for him to help out.
Based on your attitude you will never understand kindness or have friends like that.
