Bargain: 30,000 79 Lilac SC

Seems like this would be a collectors dream and valued at much higher than $50,000.

I just want to know how he finds these cars. He gets some really niceG body cars with unusual regularity.

NYNick 05-10-2020 05:52 AM

I mean Holy Mackerel, what a car. I'd stretch my budget to buy that instead if I were shopping.

Nice car for for realistic money
I don't know him but would think he knows the market
so maybe that's the right number

I got my 74 from him. He told me he has contacts in AZ and other places south. He has cash and people call him.
A lot of title jumping to avoid the dealer status. And taxes... :D

After sitting for 30 years probably will be due for a reseal soon, also head studs have been know to fail even in storage. But still a beautiful car with awesome color at a reasonable price.

Yeah, I know about the title stuff. If memory serves, Rick has a story about that...

30k miles is unicorn territory.
That car will be flipped for another $10k-$15k

Macroni 05-10-2020 10:40 AM

Deposit taken.....

Shocked it took that long.
Should have taken 2 hours, max

1 owner 30k miles is RM Sothebys or Gooding territory.
This could break $100k if marketed correctly.

I would say at least double that estimate

I bet it needs an engine out reseal, a bunch of rubber, etc etc. $10-15k refurbishment before it’s sold along for maybe a $10k profit

The title story I have is that the 996tt I bought was a flip of a flip, the title was turned over from a civilian to a dealer, and I had the bill of sale from the dealer who sold to me, but I was missing evidence of the step between the first and the second dealer, so at the DMV they turned me away and I had to go back after I got a record of the dealer-to-dealer transaction. I don't think there were any issues with the tile of the Targa.

Yeah not such a bad worse case scenario I suppose with a possibility of an even greater upside

Macroni 05-11-2020 04:27 AM

Based upon the earlier sale this year on BaT this is minimally a $70,000 car which fits Matt's math. Sug is right this could be an high end auction car.

Matt Monson 05-11-2020 05:12 AM

The color is the wild card. Someone might be willing to pay an extra $10k or more just for the color, wskecislly if the pain is truly pristine. All the mechanical stuff can be made to look time capsule original with some effort. A good mechanic wouldn’t even leave tool marks. But paint really is only original once.

Anyone remember the low mileage Lilac 930 that was for sale for awhile. Eventually it went to Sloan and I think it’s been there for a few years. Beautiful color.

Howdy, it's joining another LILAC/Pascha 924 I have.
Going to a good home up North.
