What is a certificate of destruction?

How can this car be registered?

Obviously full PPI required.....

It can't, according to the ad it can only make for a track car now. Which makes the $145k price absurd, I think.

I’d want to know exactly how it was repaired. The new aluminum bodies are really tricky. On the Cup Cars many teams cut the cars in half and then welded them back together. This made it possible to do a front or rear cut on them after a shunt. Otherwise in many instances a crash requires a full re-tub. Tons of 991 Cups in the used market are no on their original chassis.

Why would anyone spend money repairing a car that can’t be registered, insured or driven on the roads? Makes no sense. “Light hit in front left fender, no frame damage”, sure, that’s definitely believable. What a crock that is, if it had a light hit it wouldn’t be deemed a ball of scrap metal.

It’s apparently a parts car at best, unless someone wants to put this in their living room for an art piece. This car belongs in the prices that make me laugh thread.

I've met people who think they can work around salvage titles and Certificates of Destruction, and I've known a few who have. But usually with the COD you have a car that can't be titled or driven. FL gives these out more than a lot of states, don't know why. There are a couple of tricks people do, like KY only has one kind of salvage title, salvage rebuildable. So people take FL cars with a COD, sell it to someone in KY, then they have a rebuildable title, a "title wash". But even then you still have a car with salvage history so de-valued.

Here’s the opposite...A clean title, yet the car itself is actually a ball of scrap metal. Both sellers appear to be sharing the same crack pipe. That’s some strong sh|t they’re smoking.

Remind's me of a guy who had a 993 Turbo that was literally a ball. He called me looking for a body, couldn't help him, but somewhere there is a 993 Turbo that has been re-born.

You right about KY and FL, remember though cars Oder then 1981 are not CarFax or traced to very hard to track titles
Plus some states have no titles like ME or GA if over 25 years old

Maybe he's hoping for a Nigerian prince or South American drug lord to buy it.
