Lower fees are SOP for new entrants in a market

BAT could use some competition and pcarmarket isn't it. I welcome the king of quirk to the online auction scene. Although, on a cursory look I'm not seeing what differentiates his site from BAT other than an inconsequential fee difference.

His millions of followers are mostly little kids with no money on youtube. To me, he brings nothing in his car videos and i find it amazing that he is so popular. Getting in on the online auctions has been tried before and they mostly all fail. I believe this will fail as well.

You have no access to his viewership demographics.
You don't understand why he's popular. Totally irrelevant.
The website can be run very cheaply with minimal risk.

Really doesn’t cost much to run a website.
One car pays for several years hosting fees.

#1 youtube car personality when it comes to viewership/subscribers. Earns himself probably half a million a year from ad / sponsorship revenue just doing these reviews alone.

I like his videos. He finds some funny idiosyncrasies about all Makes and models. If your ever interested in a particular car watch his Doug score assessment. Doug has talked me out of purchasing a car. Good luck with the auction, but he most likely is too late to the game.

The channel has over 4 million subscribers as of 2020 growing by 2,000 new subs daily and has accumulated over 1.2 billion views so far. In a day, it is able to get an average of 1 million views from various sources. This should generate an estimated revenue of around $5,000 per day ($1.8 million a year) from the ads that run on the videos.

I respect the business he’s built. I cannot stand his car reviews. They cater to more the curiosity and quirks vs an enthusiast perspective.
Fwiw, I’d say most of us are not in his target demographic. Specifically, under 30 :-)
Doug should come up with a fresh idea.
Yawn. Another auction site....
I find hoovies garage more entertaining. And Matt Farrah is candid and honest and can actually drive a car pretty damn well (been on the race track with him)

DeMuro also has a cozy relationship with autotrader.com which is part of Cox Enterprises. I don't know if Doug is fronting this thing on his own, but he has access to major players with deep pockets.
