997.1 2007 trade for air cooled 911 possible?

Just kicking the idea around of possibly getting rid of my 2007 997.1 3.6. It is a great car. I love driving it. It just isn't for me. I am more of a pre '89 911 person. I have an '84 Targa and think I will want to get a coupe for a daily driver (I don't commute to work so daily is really a weekly driver). Just wanted to get some thoughts on trading, BAT, or just selling via some online avenue. Has anyone else tried a water cooled 911 and just not really clicked with it?

i went from an aircooled spec911 racer to an 03 996tt that i kept 10 months before getting back into aircooled. it was by far the fastest car id ever owned but i hated the AWD, anti lock brakes, traction control and what ever other nannies made the brake pedal and steering wheel quiver whenever i did the tight twisties i so love.

i never tracked it, but then again ive never tracked the 75S i bought after selling the turbo. not sure what your car is worth or the miles on it but maybe start there?

Sometimes you just don't click with a car, no matter how capable it may be.

For a few years I had a BMW 128i. I put a lot of money in suspension upgrades and other stuff. It was a wonderful driving car, lots of fun on twisty roads. But I just didn't "love" the car. I couldn't put my finger on it. I sold it and don't really miss it.

I've driven a couple 997s and think about getting one same day but fear I may not bond with it like you've found out.

Don't hang on to a car that doesn't speak to you.

A friend of mine who has driven and owned dozens of Porsches has a 997. I asked him what it's like. He said if you push it to the limit, it feels like a Porsche, but most of the driving it feels like driving his wife's Jetta.
Here are some of his Porsches over the years, so he knows what he's talking about.

Is that the wife who owns the Jetta? She needs much better PPE, in particular some protective shoes. Race tracks are dangerous.
