Sketchy gypsies who trade for cars on CL

https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/d/seattle-porsche-turbo/7165843407.html

Rolex Yachtmaster. Ok? Rolex Submariner.
Who trades a 2K-10K watch for an allegedly 17K car?

Oh, he will take a 911 for it! Good to know!
He will also take 36 foot boats, only.

I should post my rusty old truck on CL.
I will accept in trade: Porsche 911s, Ferrari Testarosas, Picasso Paintings, and 3 bedroom condos in Costa Rica, on the beach only.

I’m sure he means he will consider any of those items with cash up or down depending on the item.

nope! the wind was at like 25 MPH constant and do you see the snow??? plus i had to gladly cut my speedo into a mask to enter the gas station on the way up the hill. so no, did not dip my lil sugarstump in the water.

it's great how the snow stays present in the crevasses that i reckon are icebound between the rock for the snow to survive even with a NW exposer this time of year...

im now rating this thread 5 *'s and i hope you will too...

She should. The shelter said 40-45#. I’m thinking closer to 30#. She’s a tick under 9 right now at 14 weeks.

Ya’ll be talkin about Gypsies. You got any Gypsie stories or experience? I do. Before I say anything, I would say that you got to have some compassion for them. The Romana people have been scattered across Europe and discriminated against for eons, much like the Jews who were scattered in A.D. 70 when the Romans destroyed Jerusalem. In no way shape or form am I comparing Jews and Gypsies, so don’t start on me. They are two different kettles of fish, and they are incomparable if you take the English/British phrase to bear.

Early 90s I lived in Milan for almost 2 years. Gypsies are thieves! They hang out at the train stations like in Rome or Milan. I lived 15 minutes walk from Statione Centrale in Milan so I encountered them daily. They feed of fear, so if you have any they will rob you blind. I’ve seen grown men panic and robbed. Conversely, one day a mother and 5 children charged me with a newspaper. They put the paper up in your breast and as they rush you say “Mangare” or hungry! Meanwhile 5 children come from every angle and pick your pockets! That day I put my boot straight up her crotch! She went livid and threw the newspaper at me. I caught it and pretended to start reading it as I said “Mille Grazie”!! (thanks a million). Then she took off her shoe as if she would attack me with it.. I didn’t mention she had a baby tied down from her neck hanging across her stomach.

Another quick one, an old woman was surrounded by 10 of them with her purse hanging from her arm. I jumped into the circle and beat them off. Saved her from being robbed. Many more stories, but I think you get it. Mind you, if the Gypsies get home with no money or loot, the father beats the kids, he who sits home and does very little.

I wonder if Nick ever got robbed on his Italian tours. I doubt it. Nick goes first cabin! I was passing by Statione Centrale every day for almost two years. I bought my hashish from heroine addicts sometimes and had other friends who were sub culture North Africans who also supplied me. Mind you, this was back in the early 90’s.

Cute puppy Matt! I like him! Very cute.

We never got robbed and we've run across some pretty sketchy 'gypsies'. For my part, I call the sleaze bag pickpockets and scam artists 'gypsies' generically, whether they're gypsies or not. And no, we don't travel first cabin. Mostly B&B's but sometimes nice hotels that my AX points pay for.

We developed a system early on. First, my wife carries a theft proof purse. Look it up, they make them specifically. Second, all our pockets are zippered. Third, our backpacks are secured to something whenever we lay them down. Fourth, passports and money/cc used to be in a money belt, but now I wear a Scotte Vest. Check that out too. It's a travelers must own.

Most importantly, we've got our NY eyes, ears and instincts. We can spot a sketchy person or situation a mile away. When we're entering a sketchy area, we go on 'lockdown', which just means everything is tidy and secure and we're extra vigilant. We're pretty good at it.

In Athens we spotted a man 100 yards away on a well known, busy shopping lane. He was training two young teenage girls to pick pockets. Easy to spot if you're looking. On the line at the Eiffel tower, I spotted a pickpocket behind us. When the line moved I made like we had to do something and he had to pass us, so we were behind him now. He didn't like not being able to watch us. That's when I spotted his accomplice, 5 people in front of him. They had had us boxed in. Clever.

It's not hard if you're smart.
