What is market price for 1974 911S 3.6 with some accident history.

Hi Guy's,

I am 99% percent complete with converting my old race car over to the street. I bought this 1974 911s in 2003 purposely to convert to a race car. Before purchasing I discovered a replacement left fender and some old repaired collision damage in front left wheel well. That did not bother me because I also received a folder with maintenance records dating back four owners and into early 80's. I have all my receipts dating back to 2003 in a folder.

I raced this car successfully from 2007 to 2019 with SCCA, NASA and VARA with no on track damage other than a bent wheel once.

In late 2019 I completely did a ground up restore, media blast, and full powdercoat on the whole shell and body panels. I installed Porsche factory steel quarters and Porsche front steel fenders along with Dansk flares. Added 1988 steel doors completely rebuilt with new porsche manual window lifts, powder coated frames along with new felt. I installed a Dansk 1973 front latch panel modified for the oil cooler. The car has fiberglass hood, bumpers, and decklid. I re-skinned the roof with a non-sunroof from a 1969 car.

Suspension is full ERP front and back, Bilstein coil-overs setup for street use now, 993 brakes all around. Brand new factory oil lines with new thermostat.

The 915 is an 8:31 with custom close ratio gears and 80% lockup lsd.

The cage was cut out and I custom bent a roll bar made up of 1.75. DOM .120 wall and welded into chassis. Cross bars were fitted for correct angle to use HANS if so desired. Brand new Sparco race seats were installed.

This car weighs in at 2118 with 10 gallons of fuel. Corner balanced with 190 pounds in front seat it is 2308 pounds.

I purchased a perfect 1995 3.6 993 from LA Dismantlers with 51,000 miles in 2005. I modified the engine in 2013 with Dougherty cams and SW chip.

The car has proven winning race history by me, comes with three log books and will now be relegated to cars and coffee exposure. I rebuilt it to sell.

I painted the car GruenGold. See the build here: Keith Küchler Racing – Race Car Fabrication

BaT would go nuts over that car. $50s-$60k.

I think Matt’s estimate is low. But BaT is an odd beast, if you take amazing photos and spend some time prepping the car and dressing up some details, you could go dramatically higher.

Quality steel bodied 3.0 or greater hot rods seem to go for $85 or greater

Am I low? I was trying to be conservative. But then I also missed that it’s a backdate on my little phone screen. Yeah, I might be low.

Looks nice. Black trim works surprisingly well. I think the short gearing and 100 octane tune will limit your buying pool. It would be worth getting a new chip/tune for 91 octane.

Easy six figures Plus on BaT with a street tune /91 octane. The accident history is moot in my mind as it’s a backdate hot rod and it wasn’t a total. I doubt you could build this car today for less than 60k and a years worth of time. Probably more like 70+ and 1.5 years. Got any interior pics?

I'd sell the oversized Fiske and put on 15" Blacked out or RSR finish Fuchs from Braid with Michelain TB 15s.

Thank you all for your suggestions. Definitely have a new chip coming for the 91 octane. Brakes and raised front spindles will not allow a 15 inch wheel.

Regards,

Keith

I love the car and especially the color!
Did you powder coat the body prior to paint?

Yessir. Powder coat is a great polyester to do body work off of. The car and all of its caverns get encased in plastic.
