What can I ask for these seats.

From a 1989 Porsche 964 C4

Sport seats with a rare second color from factory. Need upholstery done, but as some say it’s expensive to do the upholstery.

Any idea the cost to upholster these seats from your experience ?

Hi

What would the seats be worth

The fact that they're two tone is meaningless because they'll need recovering.

They are valuable as sport seats, however. Not sure what they're going for now $1500-1800?

Those are power sports - not the early 80's manuals with the 3 part bottoms that are highly sought. I'd say $1000 might be high as-is.

I thought maybe about $2,000 also, but to redo use to be $1250 each.
The 2 different leather colors, I have never seen before, but does not really make them worth more.
I thought these electric sport seats are more desirable then the manual SC.
Does anybody know if sports seats from SC, Carrera and 964 are the same design but power?

Anybody know lately the cost to redo?

The last set of seats that I found more desirable, I had to buy and restore a 914 so I could have them. These sport seats are equally as desirable. I do have a blue Porsche 991 but they wouldn't fit. Maybe I will buy a new car. Maybe!

Take a look at these ads:

These seats are from an early 964 C4 and think they could be fitted in the Carrera since electric seats started to become an option during the 85 model years. Seen similar electric seats bolted in SC's and earlier, but would need to wire it in for power.

What is the cost to recover them?
What are they worth recovered?

Last set I recovered cost 2500 for labor and materials. Workmanship is excellent.

Around $2600 was what I got quoted for full leather replacements on sport seat cores.

I think if you can find a set that is in the condition/color you are looking for you always come out ahead. The guy who wants a set and is faced with recovering is going to pay. I paid 750 for a set still in my warehouse that need to be recovered. The day I recover them I will be north of 3k for a set.

So, what are these worth?

MBAtarga 10-14-2020 08:17 AM

These are NOT the highly sought after manual seats - that if in excellent shape/recovered sell for $3k - maybe slightly more. I'd say (unfortunately) anyone that got these seats for free and pays the $2500 or whatever to recover them in full leather will be upside down.

These seats below from this ad are in pretty decent shape http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-parts-sale-wanted/1009353-f-s-sport-seats.html are at $1100 asked with no takers yet. Maybe it's because they are two toned? The poster has the two toned back seats to match.
