Buyer security

In this world of phantom cars and scams there is still a pretty full proof way to make sure the car is where the seller says it is. I don't often get asked to do this but am happy to oblige. The buyer Ramon, wanted to make sure I was who I said I was and in fact had the car, so me and Sadie were happy to pose for pics with his name, my company name, and the date. If a seller is unwilling to do something that takes 5 minutes with a camera phone, but wants thousands of your dollars, well, he might not be the seller for you.

Stay Safe Everybody!

Adam, that is straight out of the movie Midnight Run. It works though, so good advice. Maybe someone might Photoshop you out and sell it to someone else. You wouldn't care about that really would you as long as your buyer got the car? Makes me want to see the movie again! Remember the towels?

A very old, blind, and very sweet hua-hua. This is her and her dad, Dolemite, who recently went to doggie heaven.

She’s so cute. Both of them are. I can’t believe the joy dogs bring into our lives.
I grew up with cats and only in my thirties did I ever own a dog and we got it as a puppy when my son was about two so they could grow up together. He was a boxer and was an amazing dog. He made it 13 years until one day he didn’t seem his usual perky self and he died in his sleep that night.
It definitely felt like losing a member of the family. A very important member of the family. But the hurt slowly faded as you remember all the good times you had as a family together.

Anyway. So to be so long winded but reading about Dolomites passing brought up some memories for me.
Thanks for sharing

Dolo made it almost to 18, so a good life was lived. Sadie is 16 and still trucking, very slowly. We got a new hua-hua, who ironically looks just like Dolo, his name is Archie, he's 10 and toothless, but everyone loves him.

lol I had three cats, two reef aquariums (and you think porsches are expensive), a greyhound, a chiahuahua, and a 7' boa all at the same time.

the cats were definitely the boss, the huahua came second, the greyhound was at the bottom and didn't care lol

jada (the huahua) thought she was a pitbull with other dogs, her nickname was 'the wolfpack" because she attacked them from underneath.

I moved in with my Fiancé. She has two chihuahuas. I have actually come around on them over the years. The female is fat and lazy (Penny) The male (Bolt) is tiny but thinks he's a big dog, and is the most needy creature I have ever seen. You cant sit anywhere without him weaseling his way onto your lap.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

I've come around on the dogs, they're pretty cool. I just miss my girl who went to Doggy Heaven a few years ago.

These dogs are strictly house dogs, they're trained to go on the pee pads. Can't let them out without keeping very close watch because of all of the different kinds of birds of prey that live on our farm. One of them would snatch either dog up easily.

Adam how can you take it one step further? What’s to prevent a fraudster from messaging you and asking you for these pics and then forwarding these pics along to the potential buyer?

So who would they be getting the pics from? Because Adam Wright Unobtanium is easy to google. They would either be getting the pics from adam@unobtanium-inc.com, or from my cell, which is also easy to verify. Or they would see the Company name and google that. The whole reason you take pics like this is because everything in those pics is verifiable. I just googled Adam Wright Unobtanium, guess what, it's pages of pics of me, and our soccer team.

It would be very easy for them to call themselves Adam Wright and unless the person was weirded out by something they likely would just go along for the ride. It actually happens all of the time.
I’m thinking FaceTime with IDs and such is the only way I can think of

That's a good idea too, the bottom line is make a seller jump through a couple of hoops, if they aren't willing to take five minutes to close a multi thousand dollar deal, well, there's your answer. That's the whole point I was trying to make, make the seller do a tiny bit of work, if all they have are pics they stole off the web and are trying to sell a car they don't have they will quickly disappear if asked to go one step further. Hell, you can usually get rid of the scammers by just asking for a phone number.
